I worked at 2 companies since graduating. The first company had a DevOps guy that was strictly not programming (setting up AWS things, CI, etc). It was clear that programming wasn't his skill. Although he was able to learn it, he wasn't hired to write code. The second company I worked at, DevOps engineers were software engineers/computer science majors. They could immediately switch teams to a write-code-only team and be qualified.

To me, this looks like an email collection form. Do you actually have a product built, or are just testing the market?

Not exactly a listening device, but I was in an AirBnb once. Every time I would open the door, I could hear a notification being played in the upstairs unit. It wasn't the back door that caused the notification, but the actual door the apartment I was staying in. It was displeasing.

You might be able to speak colloquial phrases, but you will not be able to write correctly. For example, perhaps you will be able to order food from a restaurant, or say hello to a stranger.

PHP is very fast. The tooling is great, and it's very easy to get started. VSCode with the right extensions makes PHP development fun.

This is slightly off topic. But PHP has a great devloper experience, in general, now with vscode, and autocomplate, find all references, etc. But the best framework out there is Laravel. It's great, but the maintainer doesn't seem reliable. Every single release has some type of backwards incompaitible change to it of which they don't document all the changes. So it's basically a blackbox if you are to upgrade your laravel/framework version.

Unfortunately we only branch on release. We don’t have separate branches. Consider it as everyone working on master, and no merges m, just code reviews.

If you’re at a startup this is my experience, but working for a stable company, I have not had a fire drill in my two years here.

I write software only though, I’m not doing DevOps. DevOps probably handles the fires.

I like to work from home when there isn’t much work to do, so then I can have my laptop.

It’s common for us to have a code freeze, where we do not have any items in our backlog.

So then I have confirmed it. I read about browsing the internet and generally no one working 8 hours a day it they work in software. Some days I literally don’t have work to do, so I browse the internet. Sometimes it’s nice to work on tasks around the home if I am working from home that day.

Management must know this. I consider it an unwritten/not talked about fact of working as a software developer.
