I am mainly working on B2B message exchange, e.g. via AS4/EDIFACT/ebix/CIM files and most parties seem to still work with a lot of batch processing. With the ongoing digitization of e.g. metering hardware and faster settlement times in the energy markets (EU-centric) I think this might not cut it anymore in the future.
Can someone explain when this would be good solution? We currently store loads of files in S3 and directly ingest them on demand in our Java app API pods. Seems interesting if we could speed up retrievals for sure.
Indeed I do. We run a SaaS in a regulated industry, mainly in Germany. To receive and transmit certain payloads we need to use dedicated TLS certificates from a government run PK infrastructure (Search for "Smart-Meter PKI" if you are curious).
We want to become a sub-CA of this PKI and while we are aware of the policies of this specific PKI, we think that from an engineering or IT ops standpoint we can learn much more from web PKI CAs.
I am personally involved in procurring HSMs for regulatory reasons. I would be more than happy to deploy an alternative solution that's demonstrably better suited for threats in todays typical cloud environments and fight it out with the regulator. The author sadly doesn't answer that question. Anyone having an idea?
