At my company, we use LLMs for financial analysis that previously required hundreds of employees, and that work would have been inferior anyway because it's so hard to make so many people to communicate well to identify correlations.

100% yes. My father is 67, and to be honest, he really shouldn't be working anymore. Both physically and mentally. And he is not very sick or disabled in any way. He just doesn't have the same capacity as he had in his 50s so after a 9-5 he was just recovering and going to sleep for the last few years. Terrible.

He retired last year. He didn't have an easy life. Very few jobs would benefit from his work and continuing working would have a great toll on him.

It's shocking how people are putting him down for the OP interview with just a couple of questions in 2023. The dude was 94 years old. I also did not predict where we would be in 2025 with LLMs. And neither did you. (When I say you, I mean some of the other commenters.)

The thing is, my script reads 3k articles every day to find anomalies and correlations. Humans can't do this.

AFAIK their Cascade coding flow implementation was the first done well and then copied than most.

It's better at coding, but they are essentially paying for users.

I would also argue that the product could be built over two weekends with a small team. They offer some groundbreaking solutions, but since we know that they work and how, it's easy to replicate them. That also means they have significant talent there.

Hence, they are also buying the employees.

The code base itself is basically worth nothing, in my opinion.

Alphabet is at a $2T market cap, and its core products like Gmail, Google Analytics, and the search engine are garbage at this point.
