Do you have any suggestions of ressources to learn more on that specific topic. I am interested on ressources to learn more about when to use tasks or when it is better not to. Especially for embedded systems. I find now people use tasks for anything without having a real idea of the costs. I am also interested on when it is needed to use an embedded OS or when you could better do without one. Any kind of ressources, book, website etc is welcomed.

I take the opportunity of this thread to ask for good ressources and books to learn C#, .NET, databases. I have a background in C, C++ for embedded systems but I would like to learn higher level stuff. Any recommendation on where to start? The final goal would be to be able to switch career from embedded to higher level development.

You are right, the first zelda was much more difficult. And that is what made it so rewarding when you found something new or finally beat a boss. I remember also trying to burn every single bush with the blue candle and having to go out of the scene and enter again to do one more try. Took hours, days sometime.

In opposite, the latest versions of the game are so easy. For example In Twilight Princess, I did not even die once versus the final boss... What a disapointment.

Over the years, I had several bad experiences with outsourcing to big companies in India. But recently I had a discussion with an Indian colleague. She used to work for a company for which my previous company outsourced to. She told me most of workers there are just out of school or the rest are bad programmers. Good programmers find quickly a job in better paid positions in other companies.

It seems the main issue is deciders in the west are happy to find cheap outsourcing companies in India. Their pick goes to the company with the lowest hourly rate. What they don't realize is that the good programmers move very fast in better paid position elsewhere... letting you work with the less qualified people.

I thought this article would give tips on how to find a job where you can work from home.

That makes me wonder what we will think 30 years from now, when we look back at how we develop software today.
