SoberStack: a sobriety/recovery tracker built around the idea of focusing on sober days rather then streaks so it's not all or nothing. It uses a Github style contribution graph.

I've been building SoberStack (https://soberstack.app). It's the first side project I've taken on in a few years.
It's a free sobriety app for any bad habits I built for myself. Most sobriety apps reset your counter to zero when you slip, but it uses a Github style contribution graph to show you how far you have come. I also use it to track urges, and store a toolbox that is a reminder if why I am quitting something and what I can do instead every time I have an urge.
Classes are still built around prototype inheritance, there are some differences, however they are still an easier to use api on top.
I’ve been looking forward to getting to that part.
I’ve been working through the Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs, reading Stillness is the Key and Siddhartha.
The SICP might take me a year.
Lost me at calling WD40 lubricant. Although I do agree with the premise, it is very satisfying when it is easy to open your door.
I get skipping days is against the algorithm, but wouldn’t it be better to simply freeze the algorithm for a few days opposed to get a backlog at all? A backlog would break the habit for me making me unlikely to return.
The fact I didn’t know about SRS till I was 30, is a sad one. School and university would have been much easier for me had I known about it. I am very happy for it to be posted constantly!
I managed to finally switch to using Vim after years of attempts, once I used Anki to help me memorize the common commands. I was less frustrated when using it day to day.
Is there no way to skip a day? And simply pause?
All SwiftUI, it is built within Apple's iCloud ecosystem using core data. It's a great way to get an app up and running with sync very quickly, but then you are stuck on Apple's platform.
I built https://www.CheckYourList.app originally for myself for spontanous checklists that I go through regularly. Happy to say it just passed $500 a month recently :)
I forgot I needed to migrate everything away. Here’s the AppStore link https://apps.apple.com/au/app/five-tasks-tiny-to-do-list/id6...
A Pomodoro timer because I figured for such a simple app I could make one myself that I can adjust to what I want it to be.
CheckYourList.app for routine checklists.
A now discontinued Woolworths (Aussie grocery store) price alert per product when I used to bulk buy for my online chocolate business.
A personal note taking app, focused on capturing hashtagged notes quickly into markdown files which I may release publicly one day.
Beeptestwatch.com to do beep tests without sound from my Apple Watch
Autounsubscribe.me to clean up my inbox.
Getfive.app as an attempt to limit my infinite todo lists.
Some of these apps I released as products, but they all start as an app I built for myself.
I personally really like the block editor. Much better then the shortcode hell we had before.
Gatsby is in react
This was a blast from the past
A daggerfall fan site.
There’s a problem with hamburger menus, but this footer link system is a hamburger menu. You click a button to see a menu. Same interaction.
Regarding NodeJS and being cross platform, why didn’t the company just use path.join?
Seems overly complicated.
Easier way > HTML + CSS + Javascript (vanilla or framework) + Server side language of choice.
Deploying is not building.
I agree, in latest swiftui versions what they want is possible. The same with the keyboard opening and closing when pressing next. There’s an issue elsewhere
It's quite different, it's simple suggesting unsubscribes. It won't let you unsubscribe without doing anything. It also won't let you remove a large amount of subscriptions quickly
You are most likely right, however I have to start somewhere.
Really happy for these guys. I've loved this game for 15 years.
If you mean the challenge itself, it was inspired by Nathan Barry's 2012 challenge: https://nathanbarry.com/starting-web-app-challenge/
There isn't currently. If the app does well I may consider building one.
Hi Guys,
I'm Spencer, I recently built Five to help me prioritize my day.
Five is a very simple app, you can only have Five outstanding tasks, and until you complete one you cannot add more.
Before Five, I would overwhelm my to-do lists with an endless amount of tasks, to the point where I needed to delete them. I had stopped keeping a to-do list completely before this app.
The app has helped me manage my ADHD by forcing me to priortize and complete tasks so I can add more, I am also better able to say no to new tasks now. It has also meant that I need to make the tasks small enough I can actually complete them, to be able to add new tasks to my list.
I built the app quickly and got it live because I think others could benefit from the concept of limiting your to-list like this. It currently is available on iPhone (iOS16+) only as I could build quickly that way using the latest features of SwiftUI. I build in public can you follow me on twitter for updates: https://twitter.com/Swaldy
You can see the app in the app store here: https://apple.co/3EmSwlz
You never know what goes on behind closed doors and what he was lead to believe.
Eg The Witcher series it seems Henry Cavill signed on for a different portrayal of the world then what was delivered.
Love the analogy. I recently started reducing the scope of my projects and getting them in front of users as quickly as I can. For the first time ever I've actually been launching things as a result. "Sheds" can be so mentally draining, especially due to the uncertainty of whether anyone will actually want it.
I don't know how we can stop this. Majority of Australians don't understand the implications of our constantly eroding rights because they are spoon fed bullshit by our media. When 95% of what you hear is cheering on the liberal party here, nothing can change.
