It's been a confusing day.
As Verity said, it turns out Canada and Mexico are not getting a new 10 per cent tariff after all.
The White House reversed its earlier announcement in a new statement just now. Here's the bottom line: No new developments for Canada and Mexico today.
That means there are still worldwide 25 per cent tariffs on steel and aluminum, on some auto parts in North America, and on some goods traded within North America outside the rules of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement on trade (CUSMA).
The bottom line here: Trump is starting an economic war on China, and U.S. allies are all taking some friendly fire. But a large swath of Canadian trade is spared.
The employer pays it for both part and full-time workers. The rates differ by province, but generally this works out two weeks of wages for the first few years with an employer - they can increase this if they want but that's the legal minimum.
In practice this just means that you can take two weeks and still get paid. You can forgo your vacation in some instances, but you still get paid out the vacation money. I used to do that when I worked part-time in college and was short of cash for whatever reason.

That's a really great idea for kids drawings. I'll always keep a select few special ones, but any parent knows you'll end up with an art gallery if you keep everything. Making a digital art gallery of that stuff is a really good approach to letting go.

This is the part that kills me. In my org people frequently travel at the last minute to Asia for weeks at a time. Those claims sometimes end up into the five figure range depending on the time of year. People have been almost stranded because they've maxed out their personal cards.

It's an incredibly simple point A to B type car, but I love that about it. I can change the oil and filter without even having to jack it up, it's fuel efficient, and no touch screens. Speaking as a technical writer, this look like it could have a lot of applications for me. The annotations are wonderful. An IDE for books and web content is a great concept that I never knew I needed.

All-in-all, the Lexus NX 300h is an uninspiring car. If you like hybrids and want to drive one with a luxury badge, the NX 300h is worth looking at. I would have liked the option to suck the battery dry before the internal combustion engine kicks in (à la the plug-in Chrysler Pacifica hybrid). Instead, EV Mode in the NX 300h is limited to low speeds.
