Good code is extremely subjective, most bad code is built on a good code foundation. And most foundational software (think linux, ffmpeg, curl, v8, etc.) maintainers are pushing back.

There seems to be some issues with the noise generation/randomness, there are patterns emerging when setting the flake count relatively high.

A lot of "engineers" nowadays don't know the concept of per-user/customers configs and how to build/expose them to non-technical staff.

Having moved from the EU (Germany) to the US there seems to be a LOT of these bad-faith skirtings of reasonable laws, especially in automotive (eg. license plate screens, window tint etc.) where lack of enforcement is abused and will eventually lead to the penaltization of the general public.
