For me it was the other way around. In Nine Sols I got immediately stuck in the boss (mini-boss?) fight against two enemies and the flying gal.
Hollow Knight was difficult at times (Coliseum of Fools, Radiance) but it never felt unfair. Some fights (Mantis Lords, Grimm) are among the best times I've had playing a game
I agree in line of principle, everything that was officially released should be preserved.
But "accuracy" is the wrong word I think, old home video transfers are not more representative of the original theatrical presentation just because they came out first
It could be an extreme version of FOMO: you see the end of humanity, nothing left afterwards. That's nice, sense of completion, I followed until the end.
