I'm no expert on UK energy pricing, but the main difference between a boiler and heat pump is that heatpump can be, eg "500% efficient" - a COP of 5. So even if a KWH of energy is 2x the price for electricity a heatpump often comes out ahead.

Heroku does lots of revenue, even if they pay AWS. I do think it would be worth.. quite a bit. And I would be very happy if a better steward would buy it.
Thanks for the reply! Most of these (also on the alternativeto) are self-hosted, which is different from having heroku do it. Also most only support webservers, while the majority of our servers aren't web..
It really surprises me there isn’t a modern heroku alternative that supports the same.. things. Like build pipelines, routing included, multiple worker types. AWS is way less batteries included. And none of the competitors seems to offer the same kind of service, last time I looked.
This did resolve itself.. I guess adding the card took.. a few minutes? Errors were confusing tho
I liked this idea so much I signed up and linked my personal cc (to my job email) to try it out. Unfortunately, it keeps saying "You must add a credit card to use Sprites with this organization" - even though I just linked a card. No way to continue from there: it's a loop that shows my account with an "activate" button, clicking it shows the error and my account again. Fly.io says I have an account now and it's "in good standing".. :(
Jira actually has both an MCP server and a CLI tool (called "acli"). I switched our claude code to the CLI (with a skill) from the MCP as it seems.. more efficient/quicker.
Feature suggestion: Costs (and tokens) per branch. I'm interested what branches we spend the most on.
The setup for this is So confusing. I had cursor bugbot (and copilot, but that's github themselves) where it was just a few clicks. Here it's a command line tool you can install in github but you also need a google cloud project?
I'm not saying I'm perfect, and if I missed your email, I'm sorry.
We for sure are (and you can see the roles differ between months). Why would you say we're not? Also feel free to email me.

I'm head of Software at Quatt, a quickly growing scaleup building heatpumps to help fix climate change. Heating and cooling is 50% of all energy used in the EU. Heat pumps save 10 times more CO2 for each Euro spent on them compared to electric cars. We're building the most accessible and smartest heatpumps on the market. Our first product is live, the next ones announced, we have thousands of customers, tons of data, and I really like the impact we're having. We also raised €25 million for further expansion. I’m currently looking for a few roles for my department, as we believe having the best software will allow us to have the best product. Our backend and frontend is Typescript.
* QA / Test Automation engineer - Team Boss
* Data Engineer - Data team
* MLOps Engineer - Data team
These and other vacancies are on our careers page: https://www.quatt.io/working-at-quatt Email me directly ( my-hacker-news-username@quatt.io ) for questions or apply via the career page. What do you want to know? The vacancy is on our career page. Or send me an email!
What do you want to know? Test automation (mostly E2E) and some manual testing. The vacancy is on our careers page, let me know what's unclear!
I.. have to check. For which role? Send me an email!
Not AI, real old fashion human here. Not sure a captcha proves that these days..

Unfortunately, at this time, you have to be allowed to work in the EU: we're not able to sponsor VisaCorrect me if I’m wrong but: SQLite sounds like: runs on one server. While that will work most of the time, it won’t work 100% of the time. I don’t know the specifics, but I’m fairly sure if a queue server crashes, SQS will keep working, as stuff is redundant. So while it can work in a best case, this (probably) won’t have the same reliability as SQS has..
