It usually works, but sometimes it'll try to use git instead of jj at random and needs a reminder. As JJ is not completely stable it tries some old commandline versions as well. This improved after I put in some lines in my agents file, but still it's much better at complex changes with git than jj.
I worked with JJ for half a year, and it was great. However, I've since decided to go back to GIT because of compatibility with existing workflows and AI tools.
Pre-commit hooks are not possible [yet?], which is a minor inconvenience. Worse, workspaces/worktrees use a different mechanism. This causes like Claude Desktop (which uses worktrees) to break. Also Claude and other agents are always confused about JJ and fall back to git too often.
Try Claude code. It’s different.

It's not done for the smell but for less NOx pollution. It's the law and the fines are massive.
It is simply not true that all jobs are offered at parttime. There is some amount of part-time time available after getting kids, but it's not a general requirement for all jobs.

Ah this is from the creator of the 'rcmd' tool. I absolutely love it. Press the right command key + the first letter of an app and it switches right to it! (rcmd + for firefox, i for iTerm, s for Slack, ...)
I came from i3 with 8 predefined windows, but the simplicity of rcmd is really amazing.

There is a huge difference in hourly paid people (consultants/freelancers) and salaried people (staff). Someone who makes 100k a year in a salaried position would charge 200 euro per hour as freelancer. A freelancer we hire for 100/hour would be salaried at 70k tops.

I recently got a 27" 4k monitor that I use at 2x scaling, and I'm never going back to fewer pixels per inch.
When I now have to look at monitors with a lower PPIU it hurts my eyes. I can see the individual pixels very clearly and letters are blurry. Much less eyestrain on 4k, can recommend!
When a person leaves a company who has been there for a long time, a similar effect occurs.
These people often do a host of small tasks to that noone is really aware of (themselves included; they don't see how it's special or that nobody else knows about it). It can take the organization a long time to recover and realign.
You are either a troll or don't have a family. If you do have a family i feel sorry for them.

python doesn't use end. To be honest, as a python programmemr the syntax looks quite alien.

Some programs don't support this xrandr feature very well. (The problem is that they show popup-menus on the wrong submonitor if they were opened _after_ splitting the screen). My workaround is to start all programs before splitting the screen, and all menus etc seem to work properly then.

I'm using a 43" 16:9 4k monitor. It's the most screen real estate you can put in front of you without having to move your head.
I would love to see more 16:10 or even 3:2 monitors in bigger sizes (Huawei has started shipping a 32" 3:2 monitor recently, but they seem to be the only ones interested in that market).
The 43" monitor is too big for any single application, so I'm using xrandr to split it into two 4:3 displays at the top for development/browser/chat, and three terminals side-by-side at the bottom.
Don't run your own cluster, unless you do it to learn. If you're in the cloud, just use a managed instance and focus on building software.
