You can do much more with AMP, not only marketing related stuff. Indeed, countdown timers can be done much easier with many tools (Nifty Images, Sendtric etc) without AMP.
"It's evident that while AI presents transformative potential, the surrounding financial speculation warrants caution. The challenge lies in distinguishing between genuine technological advancements and market hype. As the industry evolves, a balanced approach that values innovation while remaining vigilant about speculative investments will be crucial to navigate the AI landscape effectively." {comment by ChatGPT after reading the article and all the comments here}
It's not shortsighted. It's just a decision driven by some Italian lobbies (meat industry), scared about this innovation where they feel threatened. For the same reason they managed to forbid the use of some Italian meat-words applied to plant-based meat.
Manual coding is getting very inefficient since it takes hours plus it requires a lot of testing (ie with litmus or emailonacid).
There are modern alternatives to manual coding both for developers (embeddable editors for SAAS) such as beefree, unlayer, chamaileon, stripo and for email designers like beefree, stensul, knak, stripo, taxiforemail...
Since 1998, we have been building Datatrics, an AI-driven platform for marketing personalisation with the primary objective of increasing e-commerce conversion rates. We chose to take a different approach because CDP applications (Amplitude, Klaviyo, Bloomreach, Segment, etc.) are typically complicated with long setup. As a result, Datatrics is now offered as a freemium service with (I think) a relatively straightforward setup. That is today's challenge. Simply link Datatrics to your website to begin gathering free insights and segmentation data. Then turn on a few touchpoints (up to 3 in the free edition). Of course, totally compliant with GDPR. Input Director (win64): use the same mouse and keyboard across multiple laptops
AutoHotKey: create custom hotkeys (ie CTRL+RightArrow to skip to the next Spotify song)
Chromacam: add a custom background in MS Teams videocalls
On the opposite side: https://beefree.io/bee-plugin/
Mobile version is even better, with a fantastic background music (any guess on which is the song? Can't shazam it)
I would add the "Editors" category including embeddable editors. For example TinyMCE as html editor, BEEPlugin for email/page editors...

They claim "pay a low price for an ad-free experience", but what is the price?
I actually spend 30% of my workday on emails, something is missing here...

I have a Lenovo X1 Yoga (7th), the new Dell XPS 13 and a X1 Carbon.
My preferred one is X1 Carbon with FHD display which saves battery, it's also pretty lighter and thinner than the X1 Yoga. If you like touch screens and embedded pen, I'd go with the Yoga, still better than XPS13 for me.
Reasons? Better ports (HDMI, USB3.0) and better keyboard (yes, you can switch the Fn and the CTRL keys, it's a BIOS option).
True that the European user should be able to opt-out just from tracking. Our platform MailUp (ESP) is handling this in the preference center (that can be customized). Here is a sample: https://updates.mailup.com/frontend/preferencecenter/363734/...
I read that book a few years ago, but I remember several researches that proved the correlation between casein (milk proteins) and the cancer development. Which doesn't mean that casein causes cancer, but that casein speeds up cancer development. SO if you have a little cancer, with animal protein it will develop faster. The article skips this relevant topic.
Internet money is made by the "over-the-top" (Google, Facebook & co.) leaving ISP to pay for the infrastructure. Net neutrality will allow ISP to bill users not only on bandwidth, but also based on what you do on the net. Ie: do you want a fast Youtube? Someone will have to pay (google or the users). They will be allowed to slow down some websites and speed up others, and that's really bad.
It scares me actually, when trying a search I got this:
поиск временно недоступен. пожалуйста, используйте DOI или прямые ссылки search temporarily unavailable, please use DOI or direct links If you're using Google chrome, you can install Sci-Hub extension to use search.
To do this: Download the extension and unpack it. You get the "Sci-Hub" folder with code. Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions, or just open the menu -> settings -> extensions. Check the developer mode in upper right.[...]
I see in your case text was better performing than html, but I would not bet it's the same for everyone. It's just actually depends, and anyone with a simple A/B test will determine if text is better than email.
However the 5 reasons supporting text email are pretty wrong:
1) Poor rendering. Just use a good email editor, such beefree.io or others. Not a issue at all.
2) Mobile clients. Same as above
3) Email CSS. Same as above
4) Design effort. Yes, if you want a good result, you need a little effort. But if you rely just on text, you should put the same effort in choosing the best words. Consider than with a single Image you can communicate much more (and deeply) than with 20 lines of text.
5) Approval. Any communication department would require to approve email content, not only design.
Regarding the other reasons mentioned:
a) spam filters. Text doesn't change the inbox placement rate, the impact if any is below 0,001%, so totally irrelevant.
b) promotions tab. It actually depends on other variables, it's not a matter of text vs emails. If a transactional messages arrives in Promotions instead of Updates, you should fix the content (use a different IP/domain for transactional vs bulk), not the email format.
c) true, a template looks like something "bulk" or automated, while a simple text email may look like a personal direct email. Unless you want to cheat..
Yes, but you can't have a custom PTR without a dedicated IP.
It's not a Gmail issue!
By using an ESP (like Aweber, Mailchimp, etc) means that you are sharing part of your "reputation" with thousands (or even millions) other senders. So even thou most of the ESP are quite efficient in cleaning-up their customer base from spammers, the more clients they have, the more it's difficult.
Here you can find an pretty accurate and updated analysis of ESP's clients "quality": http://mainsleaze.spambouncer.org/may-2017-in-spamtraps-esps... Aweber is #6, which is not a good signal.
That said, you may switch ESP by choosing one that provides a you custom "identity" such as dedicated IP, DKIM, PTR, SPF records (which usually means quite a lot of setup and costs) or choose an ESP that doesn't have tons and tons of clients, eventually with a free version.
http://www.emailvendorselection.com/ is an updated ESP directory. You are of course also welcomed to try mine: http://www.mailup.com
Not exactly, the DMARC policy is very flexible. Each server, after a period of monitoring when he receives a detailed report of what would happen if a policy is enforced, can define his own policies.
MailUp even lower: from $0.044 to $0.032 http://www.mailup.com/pricing/sms/?cID=no
They need to fix many things, it doesn't seem they have a good knowledge and experience on the sms messaging world.
1) have a specific price for every single network makes it impossible to calculate which will be the final real cost for each country
2) it's crazy expensive outside the US. Every player in the SMS industry is 4x lower on average. IE: http://www.mailup.com/pricing/sms/
3) they don't support text as a sender. In many countries you can have "MyCompany" as a sender instead of a generic number or short code. This makes the communication much more effective.
4) They claim the pricing will be different for transactional & marketing traffic, but it's not clear how , they just provide one only price list.
5) first 100 messages to US numbers free (each month). I expect they will be soon abused and they will retire this offering.
6) they don't support 2-way communication
7) SMS prices usually go down when volumes increase
Long pressing works with Chrome
Sending emails always requires more attention than expected. Everyone, even Apple in 2007, made some severe mistakes in delivering emails. By using a professional SMTP relay (disclaimer: we provide SMTP+) this wouldn't happen since, for example, every A:/CC:/CCN: recipient is splitted from the original message by default.
