Yeah, I was excited until I read that. Last time I was tested I had 48 events per hour. 4 wouldn't help me much.

I kind of always considered that Industrial Metal, but looking at the examples on the site, they don't really match with what's in my head.

I was obsessed with a handful of Deftones songs back in the day. But outside those, I just couldn't get into them wholesale. I think they just weren't heavy enough for me. Now I'm old, and one of my mates is a huge Alice in Chains fan, and he showed me their ropes (I didn't know much prior). I'm very into them now. It's the same with a lot of bands that were before my time. My dad loves Dire Straights, and I thought they were OK when I was younger. I appreciate them at a different level now.

I wish they would stop adding anything to the language and document what they have. I constantly need to reverse engineer how things work. For example, I just had to integrate AccessorySetupKit and the docs are laughable.

Woodworking - It started when someone on my work slack posted an image of an arcade machine they had made. I thought "I want one of those". So I borrowed a circular saw and made one. Then I was hooked. Now I'm doing lots of home improvements, such as building a coffee bar and converting an unused area into a pantry. I'm currently building some shop furniture, then I'll be converting an unused cupboard near our entry way into a mud room.

The two downsides are: * It's easy to want to buy all the shiniest tools, which are expensive * I don't want to buy furniture anymore, I want to make it. But there just aren't enough hours in the day.

As an aside, it's commonly called "Violent agreement".

As an Australian who has moved to the USA, I don't know why it's done. I don't know a single person in Australia who has ever replaced their roof. My dad lives in the same house I was born in 40 years ago, same roof. I've been in Colorado for 4 years. We had a new roof put on 2 years ago, then another 6 weeks ago due to a bad hail storm.

Is there a good way to hide the top tabs without getting into barely supported config files?

I like TST, but I gave up on it because I could never get the top tabs hidden correctly, and all the information I could find on the internet was different levels of out of date.

I don't know why, but after being a professional programmer for around 20 years, I have replaced all my hobby programming with woodworking. I love it. There's something about having a tangible object you can touch when you're done that makes it satisfying for me.

I like Rust and think it's got a good future. However I've not seen too many job postings that actually use it, but as it catches on more that will probably increase. I guess it depends on if you're thinking near term or long term.

I started writing C++ about 15 years ago. It's still my strongest and most enjoyable language. However, at the moment I mostly write Swift\ObjC because I couldn't find any decent paying C++ jobs. I'd love to get back to it.

We had a similar experience when living in NY with two small children. People would always offer to help, but one time in particular a woman grabbed the front of the stroller and started helping me down the subway stairs, then she looked back and said "Could you please go faster, I'm running late". She was in no obligation to help us in the first place. We got to the bottom and she ran off to a train.

I found New Yorkers are always happy to lend a hand when needed.

That's quite common in Australia. Is it not in the US?
