OMG its JavaScript, I can't even.

yeah makes sense. Im sitting here evolving my little prototype its too much fun.

I was curious and was able to build something very similar quickly using Gemini 3 via Google AI Studio. Never would have imagined a few years ago how easy some of this has become to prototype.

I'm here to answer any questions folks might have, we're (the Firebase team) are really working hard to make this the best framework for Node.js and soon Go developers. We'd love your support and hope you give us a chance

I wish we wouldn't allow upvoting here of articles behind a paywall, this just wastes everyone's time. And yes someone might post a link to get around the paywall but this is hurting our news industry so I cant support this as a workaround.

How long before this is used to help fake political videos from existing footage. Sigh

I really worry about videos being lost, almost feels like someone should do an archive every so often and put it up as torrents that many people can help backup. Just a thought

My parents still can’t get NYS unemployment benefits processed since they started applying in March due to all the website and process problems. Sure wish they’d focus there.

For a project that is about freedom of information they sure kept this vague. Why not share more details of why you had to fire people, what funding sources dried up, etc?

2. Large companies are still hiring I growth areas, I am not 100% sure but If I was a betting man anything at Google, Amazon or Microsoft that is cloud related is probably still booming to get people on board

Reality is companies know that even if they have to settle in court they still save BILLIONS. Companies can't loose until laws drastically change here.

I'd reverse my decision too, if you know I made a product that I knew could kill people due to some poor design in key systems and then it killed hundreds of people.

On the topic of trusting domains, big companies are not helping themselves. Lets use a big financial company as an example.

I recently got an email from them to check on a transaction that settled, the domain was:

https://click.SOMECOMPANYNAMEHEREinvestments.com/? ...

Their real domain is SOMECOMPANYNAMEHERE.COM but as you see they made a special domain just for email clicks. I thought at first this was a scam email, but then tried clicking and sorted out that it redirects to the real site and login.

But man you can't even easily trust real emails if you're paying attention, i dont know how regular people will defend against stuff like this.
