I design mascots and logos, shoot me an email at the email in my profile.
Find a different way to pay it forward with friends and family rather than offering your professional technical skills (if it's becoming too time consuming, maybe you'll have down time some times, and you'll know you can pick it back up).
I think web design is a really good trade to have and you should not stack up a list like that. If you are on HN, I imagine you have grander ambitions of doing your own things, so if I were you I'd learn to respectfully say no more often. I learned this one the hard way, but once I started saying no, it was no big deal, and I was helping others, but in reality these tasks take away time from my own coding projects, and it's not worth the trade off.
can you explain 'convertible note' and 'no dividend' 'no cap'
hm, his email isn't on his site. do you know where I can find it to ping him?
Thanks guys for those comments, quite helpful.
whats a good one to use for single devs/small teams?
would love to see an answer to this as well.
I believe that's already been done...forrst.com
would be interested to hear your learning experience in sysadmin.
Awesome. I recently ordered the well-grounded rubyist as I've heard great things about the book (though its on page #2 on your site). How long did it take you to complete the project?
What language/tools did you use to build it?
Are you making any revenue from referrals?
joshu: do you need any design help? would be happy to hack on a simple/elegant logo and/or design.
can you share what you learned with these experiments?
patio11's answer is what I was looking for. not the data structure. so most sites all web apps can be broken down into a 'stack'?

guy what are you looking for? they just launched, so there will be more features every week/month but they are focused on maintaining the simple clean intuitive design.
one thing i requested was to group stories from multiple feeds together
im telling you, forget all the other posts, and try www.feews.com -- you will thank me.
great response. thanks! do you find it okay to email people in the industry for their thoughts on an idea your planning on building? is this considered an ok email etiquette practice?
how much are you making?
I'm a UT austin student, hit me up with some details laksman@gmail.com
lenny I'm starting a startup blog, would like to review, email me laksman@gmail.com
I'm trying to get a little insight into what HN wants from a new startup blog, I have already started writing a few posts and am a big believer i just diving in, but wanted to see what your thoughts and what you guys are looking for in a startup blog.
Is there anything besides the typical startup review you would find useful? Maybe the community. I read facebook is putting out a 3rd party commenting system and thought it would be great to have a quora style accountability in the comments. What do you guys think? Any ideas, feedback on a startup blog is welcome, and I'll definitely get it going asap. I already have the wordpress up and a few posts.
nice. what will the premium version have? is it a place to scribble notes?
I'm looking to see a few bare bones MVP's, early stages, or different MVP's at different stages perhaps, I know what they are, just trying to get a post / resource going for HN to see real people's MVP's, not like, facebook, flickr, etc.
what does convertible note/solid terms mean?
maybe YC doesn't want to spend time gaining that clout? they're like the sequoia of incubators.
What does "LP" mean? Does that mean an investment deal or advising deal?
How do you guys manage 40 startups in one batch? I am quite excited to read about them when they launch.
