At least Comcast isn't the company with the worst customer support now, we can give that honor to Xfinity

Who watches the watchmen? Terrorists
I live in the area. Crazy how many helicopters and drones showed up so quick and how many police there were. For several hours more and more police and FBI vehicles kept arriving. Probably ended up with close to 100 officers on scene. Salem NH PD, Methuen MA PD, Providence RI PD, NH state police, MA state police, FBI, and US Marshal service were the ones I saw.
I think it's the biggest response I've personally seen since the Boston Marathon Bombing.
Presumably Google Disco, an experimental AI focused web browser. There's also a few related HN threads but not much discussion.

Just a note, I almost immediately closed your site after opening because on my phone all I see when it first opens is a sign up form. I did end up scrolling and seeing the content, but I'd recommend dropping that form either off the front page or at least below the description of what your product is.
When talking to foreigners and someone mentions USA, it's about 50/50 I get a trump joke or a fat joke. I don't think HN is the place for it, but stereotyping countries is pretty common.
Hot take, but parents should, y'know, parent. Steam offers parental controls which can disable the store entirely, and have a whitelist for which games can be played along with other features.
I believe in the past year or two someone passed a law with a specific deceleration amount. If you were decelerating at or beyond that amount, brake lights are required to come on. Maybe the EU? Can't quite remember. Would definitely be good to have that here in the US
Remember, the space lasers were manned by the Jews and Republicans like Jews now.
One of today's lucky 10,000.
They say it "could have weighed up to 200 pounds". How do they know? Are they just guestimating based on modern animals about the same size? Or maybe weighing/measuring a modern beaver and scaling up size and weight?
According to someone from NASA, it was in fact shut down. NASA will eventually re-publish the reports.

I live in an apartment building on the side that faces the woods. I obviously have to park on the other side, and my fob doesn't reach. I don't care about remote start anyways, but there are absolutely situations where fobs can't reach but cell service can.
The only time I really go to Google is when searching for a product or local business. Google excels there, but that's obviously because they have several decades of business-provided information.
Kagi does great with 99% of my searches.
Now something like every other new car on North American roads is a Tesla.
Source? I could see that being true for EVs, but I can't see it being true for all cars in general.
My interpretation is that they wanted the poster to create an invoice for the $105, plus an additional $4 to cover the fee PayPal charges on invoices. I assume this is so if the terms aren't followed, they can get a refund from PayPal. I don't think they were asking the poster to pay the fee.
80% of the Twitter workforce was fired. The first month was kind of shaky, but at least from my point of view the platform has been pretty stable.
I of course can't say for sure, but I imagine most of Automattics products will continue running though maybe with a much lower frequency of updates.

Tonya Mork, another core committer, announced she'd be pausing her contributions.
Seems to happen on my computer and phone, wifi and lte. Click her photo on the main page and it goes to a page about CBD gummies. Click the more link at the bottom of the home page and it's some drug. The bottom of the art analysis page has links to valium, adderall, and tramadol.
Looks like her website has been hijacked or something. Lots of links to pages about drugs, seemingly AI generated.
Can't wait for Matt to show up in the comments here saying how he isn't a bad guy and banning people who ask questions is actually for the benefit of WordPress.
When I start typing a string that begins with "https://", disable autocorrect/auto capitalization. It gets frustrating having to fight the keyboard any time you type a url.
I think AI generated voice "acting" will be great. Someone made an addon for world of Warcraft maybe a year ago that gives NPCs voices when giving you a quest. While not all of the voices exactly match the character, the voices themselves seem pretty incredible.
Is that the case in Japanese law? I don't know anything about Japanese law, but I've heard they don't have an equivalent "fair use" law which results in much stricter control.
Who is this and why should I trust them?
Verifiers SHALL verify the entire submitted password (i.e., not truncate it).
That'd be a nice world to live in. I love making an account with a service just to not be able to log in because the password that the sign up form allowed is too long for the log in form.
Here's some recent discussion of the non-pro version
