I'm convinced Bodak Yellow was the result of a bet to see just how bad a "talent" producers could make a star on the basis of one good song.

I continue to be fascinated by the discussions you feel compelled to chime in on.

I get where you're coming from, and the point is valid in many ways.

But I'm relentless in cutting consistently negative people from my social media feeds, and its made my personal experience so much better.

While appreciate the principles you're discussing, I just don't need the constant negativity.

There's no reason existing media release forms wouldn't work in this instance.

I think the tweeter may end up having problems over the fact that she did try to exploit the tweets for fame and advantage. If it had been just sharing observations about something happening around her, she'd likely be fine. Trying to gain personally from the story makes it much more shaky on an ethical level for me.

And there's no excuse for encouraging people to seek out the subject's identity. Awful idea all around.

Fake advertising for the purpose of creating discord is as old as political advertising.

I had a friend run for state legislature in the 1990s, his opponent sent people around targeted neighborhoods passing out fake flyers for my friend's campaign. They used his name and photo, but attributed positions he did not hold to him.

I imagine before cheap printing, it was gossip. I'm sure it's been the case since democracy started.

I'm curious why it should stay secret when it's literally world-wide public knowledge they have it.

What would be at risk by sharing what is absolutely known to exist?

The LAFD might be the most admired municipal organization in the city. They have a very difficult range of environments and handle them very well.

Sort of like the big con in the movie The Sting, but real.

I was also a sales engineer 20 years ago. There was a ton of drinking involved, but never anything wilder. I was honestly a bit surprised how tame the after-hours excursions were given what I'd heard from friends at other companies with similar clients. Ability to drink heavily was a requirement of anyone on the sales team though.

I did get a lot of nice dinners and bbq lunches. Seriously, every client had a favorite bbq place they had to show off. Weird in retrospect.

As far as I can tell, that's what the people running the site want it to be. It's been a problem for years and years now and no action has been taken to stop it.

The most effective method is probably to spend a couple hundred a night to hire a security guard to sit with the hives while they're all so concentrated.

Unequal treatment in the workplace due to friendship is far, far, FAR more common than due to romance. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever worked at a company of more than a few people where it didn't happen.

There has to be more to this than is being revealed. Either something about the relationship or...they don't really want him in place anyway.

What's the ideal vision they should follow?

That's my favorite conspiracy theory. That VCs own the property and are fine with channeling their fund's money (which isn't all or even mostly theirs) into rent.

I had a Native American friend who asked me for help with digitizing cassette tapes of certain ceremonies. I transferred them, cleaned them up a bit, and burned audio cds for him.

I then deleted all my own copies as he requested. He asked that since the ceremonies were for his people that I not keep them for myself, and I respected that.

It's basically an offer to trade a net +2 Dem. senators for some Rep. electoral votes.

If a system can't cope with "dumb" users who occasionally make mistakes - I have to question whether the technology works at all.
