SteamOS uses KDE! GNOME has very little configuration available (sorry, I am a KDE fan).

It is incredible in desktop mode, in modern times it can literally provide all the computing a normal user needs, which is kinda ironic.

I am aware, that was my second choice!

I heard though Valve is working closely with nvidia to get steamos working, so I am holding for that one instead

I got one and I am considering switching everything to SteamOS. Unfortunately I still have nvidia cards around, but the experience is amazing for videogames.

As for the desktop experience, having access to linux is way better than windows.

I like windsurf a lot, but the cost and effort make me treat it like a "for fun, occasional activity".

I do not like going to the gym, but I go 3 times per week for weight lifting and 2 times a week for HIIT (incidentally, I kinda like punching the heavy bag for 30 minutes).

Either way, I'd rather play videogames (I am very passionate indie gamer) or play board games.

All of this to say: no, don't give this advice, it doesn't work for everybody.

What worked for me is tricking my brain into thinking it's part of work. I cannot skip it, it's important, it's work for my body.

I do like all the rewards it brings,but I have to fight against my will every time.

I am 3 years in and I haven't skipped a single session, so I'd say I figured it out.

As a European and Canadian, I find very painful the fact that in the EU you MUST know English, yet there is no country with English as primary language in the whole EU. There is also no way to live in a country by knowing only English, so effectively you need to know 2 languages by default to be part of the EU.

I know two languages and for me learning English was a terrible experience,it took so many years and so much effort, if I could get by with just one, I would.

They watched the news. I just came back from holidays in Italy from my family, and they would watch the news from 3 different channel the entire meal. The meal lasted 2 hours each time. (That's 4 hours per day, equivalent to doomscrolling)

Gaming is cheaper now than when I was growing up, but gaming has become a lot more expensive in the last 10 years. Anybody remembers the humble bundle good era, along with the steam sales that would hit 90%?

I accumulated so many games over that time that my steam library will last for me and my kids and probably more.

I don't think that's sufficient. You need to be there and tell them why the other one is shit. I love pistachio gelato (artisanal), and it's my easy way to spot if the gelato being served is good or sucks.

I give it to my daughter, so she tried many different pistachios (good and bad), but she still can't properly distinguish between the two (sometimes the difference is very big).

I live in Canada but was born in Italy. I want to often buy books in Italian (digital) and it's incredibly complicated because licensing deals are never for people speaking Italian in Canada.

So for simplicity, let's say people self diagnose 4 times per year and they are right 4 times because they are not dead and back to work.

That being said, what alternatives you have? GOG lacks support for Linux, Sony cares doesn't care for you, Nintendo likes to s** all over you and their most passionate fans, Microsoft killed itself.

It still costs double a PlayStation, but yeah, I just bought one. I have kids and a big Steam library, so I am actually saving money with that over a console

I don't disagree with you, but open hardware DOES make a difference, in the worst case scenario I can turn the hardware into a GOG machine, or into a PC. Also if they ever lock my library, I am turning to piracy (I have 1000+ games)

Gog might consider linux more, which will make me reconsider it. I stopped buying from them because the lack of linux support
