Question for HN: I've seen more and more of these interactive explainers popping up recently. Given these are far more approachable to build due to LLM capabilities (e.g. Claude artifacts, open generative UI, etc.), what is the community reaction around having a product tailored for creating and distributing these experiences?

I've been experimenting over the past 6 months with interactive educational materials and curious on the community sentiment around this topic.

Super well stated and interesting point regarding (general) privacy.

I miss the days where Mozilla (Firefox) was known to be the "fastest browser." It worked and such an easy transition for users (including myself) who were tired of the bloated browser experience.

This resonates with what I've observed: I've asked several close family members and friends (between 16-22) what's troubling them and the most common answer is that they feel they're behind in life. They feel that they must already be driving an exotic car, surrounded by tons of potential partners, and at the top of their game—I assume these expectations are set by the content they consume and interact with on a daily basis.

Not exclusive to philosophy but a strong emphasis within philosophy is the focus on developing the ability to:

- Intelligently entertain various perspectives

- Effectively imagine "possible worlds" where positions may be held or refuted

- Formalize language and all of its "fuzzy" characteristics into clear positions

- Hypothesize generalizations and abstractions to map across domains

- Think from first principles and explore their logical conclusions in conceptual and foreign territories

These were my big takeaways from philosophy undergrad and I find them increasingly important in my various technical careers.

Have you considered IVF to reduce the time pressure so that you can make a better decision in the long run?

Highly recommend picking up Antifragile in illustrating the bigger picture and grounding some of these suggestions on "going past your comfort zone."

Are there other ways for you to find what you're looking for without leaving your position? It seems to me you're wanting a challenge but not wanting to take the financial hit. Have you considered alternative solutions to fulfill these two requirements?

I highly recommend reading, "Nonviolent Communication." Don't let the title throw you off.

I sense the things you're doing (and wanting to do) are not aligned with any important needs. This lack of alignment (or awareness) can create confusion—and it's very common.

These are phases where we get the opportunity to go within and uncover parts of yourself worth exploring. This book can help you be more compassionate with yourself (and others) and help to see your needs.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. Cheap labor allows to build out the infrastructure and as prosperity kicks in, the standard of living increases—hence the need to transition from an outsourced partner to a larger contributing/strategic player to continue to compete.

I recently had a conversation with an older friend who, in his teens, moved to the US from Thailand. After graduating from college, he found his passion in animations and, ultimately, led one of the animation divisions for The Simpsons by moving to S. Korea.

I was surprised to hear that he lived much of his professional life in S. Korea building out The Simpsons (decades ago) and why/how the work was outsourced there. He told me that labor and talent was abundant and affordable.

This made me think of a possible reason as to how S. Korea's entertainment industry has become successful worldwide. That is, just as outsourced manufacturing/operations helps countries build out the infrastructure and gradually transform into a country for developing quality products/services, something similar happened where the grunt work of entertainment was outsourced helping S. Korea build out the underlying infrastructure until it had enough talent and capabilities to enable a larger ownership over the product/vision and become a major player itself.

Absolutely! When you take into account just the artistic aspects (e.g. modeling, texturing, rigging, etc. with professionals specializing just in particular aspects like facial structures, etc.), it really is quite remarkable.

I imagine we'll get more efficiency as procedural and generative techniques become more powerful: characters, worlds, mechanics, etc. are all programmatically generated with little-to-no intervention.

Computer graphics is where I found my love for software, math, and art. Needless to say, the first time I got to code lights in raw GL, my mind was illuminated :)

It sounds right but I'm still dumbfounded as to why these particular games. I'd imagine games, of all sorts, could be categorized as "cause for negligence" with this rationale, no?

Sorry for the naive question: but why would Buddha not play these games? I can't seem to find anything insightful for the rationale.

[Non-Violent Communication] has been the most impactful book for me over the past year...

For multi-tenant architecture, the following topics are always top priority for me:

- Shared compute with tenant context passed via JWT

- Data isolation by either physical separation (i.e. separate database) or logical separation (i.e. separate schema, table, or column association) depending on requirements

- Enforcing tenant context at the API gateway

- Always leveraging policies and ACLs via JWT to enforce secure data retrieval

- Sometimes using RLS within the database

- Either universal data encryption or per tenant depending on requirements
