I'll be honest it looks like Facebook OS for phones :) Not bad, not bad at all. Still though, imho, Microsoft will lose most of the old Windows Mobile fans and users and will start from scratch with this one.

They are probably holding back features for next generations of iPad... launched in a year or so after the first one (it could have a camera also)

When I've been to USA I was surprised how much religion is used as a business (not that they say that themselves), "free market" churches are much more radical and aggressive in nature and marketing. Also, "churches" in Europe are hardly that active and much more tolerant and unintrusive.

Actually, I've been to USA for quite a lot of times (in which I stayed for several months) and came back with no problem… America is a place of extremes, be those good or bad. So getting back home is very easy if you consider the bad stuff, like the high criminality in some places (looking at CSI just doesn’t feel the same as when I lived in Europe), the religious towns where Jesus is some kind of money making superstar, the wasteful mentality, the obscene hospitalization prices etc. But of course for all the bad stuff there is an equally extremely good side, like the openness of people, the energy and get things done attitude, be it having a block party on top of an apartment building in NY queens in 5 minutes to starting an NGO or a firm, the by and large hardworking people, the creativity of the place is quite high also etc.

Also if RSS is integrated in the browser (e.g. like in Opera) users are always notified and they are more up to date. While on Twitter accounts may be checked a lot more sporadic.

I can't believe everyone on TechCrunch can't see the difference between "highest percentage increase in green house gases" and "worst greenhouse gas emitters"... are they that foolish...

Of course countries that emitted few greenhouse gases have a higher percentage increase because any slight variation is a big one, while USA who is a mammoth when it comes to greenhouse will logically have small percentage changes because it's already huge (similar with GDP changes, 1% of GDP increase in USA is equivalent with 380% of GDP in Sweden for example and so on... btw, bogus numbers just to exemplify).

I just hope the users have voluntarily participated to this...

Well, MPlayer and VideoLAN share most of the libraries so it's basically the same back-end. I like them both and I'm glad they share resources (speeding up the development process). Basically the best video players out there.

Well I'm sure that if Russian furniture is so fine and good value for the money, it will have no problems competing with Ikea on domestic or international market (and that is a big if). I find it funny, especially when Symantec is usually in the bottom half of every antivirus banchmark made, surpassed easily by antivirus like Avira or Avast.

I think it's very useful for transferring big files (like movie files for a project or from the last trip) to friends. Instead of using megaupload or having them install a software (like DC++, connecting to hubs and so on) to download it. It's like having your own apache server but way much easier to use for normal people.
