It costs more on a nominal basis but if implemented right nobody will have less money in their pocket even after taxes.

If you didn't earn any money before you will get what was spend on you before + the saved overhead (+ a lot of wasted time and hassle). If you made a lot of money before you will still get a free handout but you also have to pay higher taxes so in the end you should have about the same amount. Obviously it will not be exactly the same for everybody but that doesn't mean it will be less fair.

Besides the saved overhead another major advantage of a bi would be to streamline incentive. Currently it can happen that if you start earning money you will lose a lot of benefits. This can lead to an implicit tax rate of > 50% for very poor people and therefore disincentives work.

Are you planning to open source some or all of the code of your site etc.? Was thinking about a similar service in my country (Germany) and that would obviously help a lot.

Do you have any before and after examples? Could only find the 'after' version on your website.

Does anyone know why the cost of the universities have skyrocketed? Do they offer a better staff/student relation, better equipment, better buildings, do they pay their staff better...? I honestly don't know but since a lot of the universities are non profits the money is not going to their shareholder's and if I understand the article correctly the (inflation adjusted) amount of money the government provides also has not decreased.

Since there are by now probably a lot of readers who go back to the book and user it as a reference, is there any chance that you include new topics / extra chapters with more advanced topics? Would be great (+ you could charge me again... ;-).

The US price does not include sales taxe (19% in Germany). If you take this into account is's still more expensive in Germany but less than 10%.

What's your experience at Google? Do all off you habe 2 accounts and if so, don't you have problems making sure that your not work related friends etc. don connect with the wrong profile?

I was first very exited about those possibilities but if I get it right I have to basically give up / merge my personal G+ Account unless I want to have 2 account with the same name on G+.

If I do so the Apps-admin will have full control over my account including reading my private messages, deleting my account... right? Besides trust issues I wonder what would happen if I leave the company? How do you handle this at Google?

Don't they sell the iPad 2 for 400 US$? This would be at least 150US$ more than the most expensive Nexus 7 and 200US$ more than the standard version or the kindle fire (assuming the next version won't be more expensive). I'm sure Apple could meet the price point or even undercut it (bear in mind that Google ads 25US$ credit for the Play store) but that would mean their margin goes down a lot. I'm not sure Apple is willing to go down that route.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't believe that Apple is going to release a product that is inferior in some main aspects (eg screen resolution) and trying to compete on price.

So according the the rumors it will probably have a screen of lesser quality than the Nexus 7, it will probably be more expensive and it will probably be heavier (because it is much bigger).

What's the point again? Ok, it's bigger but if there is any advantage of a 7 inch tablet it is the form factor (being small and light). So if Apple won't/can't adress the problems mentioned above the only reason I see anyone buying the iPad mini would the the eco-system. A huge plus, no question, but enough?

You'll be able to have a great time for sure but there will be still some locals you will have a hard time to interact with, some jokes you won't get, some shows which will make no sense to you etc. Nothing to worry about but it still can make a difference to know at least a little German.

You will get along with English just fine although you will probably miss out a little with regards to your social life.
