If you look at the past, whenever Google announces something major, OpenAI almost always releases something as well.

People forget realize that OpenAI was started to compete with Google on AI.

I love Cursor, but it feels like a ticking time bomb with extensions not being updated at the same rate as VSCode.

Also another issue I am starting to see is the lack of shared MCP servers. If I have VSCode, Cursor, and Claude open, each one is running its own instance of the MCP server. You can imagine that with a dozen or so MCP's, the memory footprint becomes quite large for no reason.

They are also for the most part avoidable

I would agree with you if this was a main line product (iPad, Macs, iPhone). You could argue the Apple Watch is a main line product as well.

But this is an accessory line. Apple is pretty good at keeping accessories working for as long as possible. AirPods v1 still work. A Magic Mouse bought 10 years ago still works as long as the battery isn't dead.

I truly wonder can be done at this point if congress already passed it into law and judges have sided with congress.

At the minimum it would be nice if some actual concrete evidence came out to why it was banned. Not just more "It's a Chinese spying app that knows you like watching brainrot and its bad"

A beefier Switch is what everyone wants. The number 1 complaint I hear about it is how game X looks worse on it than the Xbox/PS version.

There may be extensions for VScode to do it but it will never be allowed in Copilot unless MS and OpenAI have a falling out.

Disney really should be broken up if they want to have agreements like this. There is no one who thinks its okay to waive your rights to sue because you took advantage of a free trial 5 years ago for a service that has nothing to do with what killed your wife.

People defend Apple like its the underdog. Apple has been Goliath for almost a decade. Apple under Tim Cook is more about making money than it is about making the best product.

I have been feeling the same way. Apple has been dropping the ball a lot lately. This whole malicious compliance thing they are doing with the EU is childish. Apple 100% should have lost the court case to Epic the same way Google did.

It's way too early to say the Vision Pro is a flop. Remember, the first Apple Watch received mixed reviews. Yet, after several updates and feature additions, it became one of the most, if not the most, popular wearables.

OpenAI will always be in a different league. I know Apple is making some amazing advancements with LLMs, but OpenAI basically recreated Google Search as a chatbot.

I'm not saying Apple couldn't do the same thing, but the model alone would take up so much space on the phone that it would not be practical. I can see Apple making something closer to a very fine tuned mistral 7B than GPT4.

But I'm sure in a year this comment will be wrong.

Youtube music is really just a UI on top on the existing YouTube features. Even if they didn't offer it as a bundle "service", you could access every song just through Youtube itself.
