Yeah. Twitter needs to be more transparent on how they give those out. There's allegations that they require spending thousands on advertising unless you're a pop culture icon like a Kardashian or something. And what's the point if they can just take it away on a whim?

I agree. Monetization is their goal. It needs to happen to appease investors and the like. We'll have to see how much stink people put up when Twitter compromises on either 2 or 3 here.

Yeah. There have been a few instances of this already. Not just trolls, but journalists, people discussing politics, etc. I feel like Twitter trying to bend over to appease the people who want to combat unpleasantness online will have more unintended consequences.

It's pretty cool to see work being done to get Android working better in a desktop environment. I applaud the progress. But I don't really have a need for this. I love my Chromebook and ChromeOS too much and it feels like they fill similar niches.

This is a good point, but T-Mobile's not exactly in a monopolistic position.

Honestly, their music thing doesn't bother me too much. They included nearly every major service. It doesn't seem like they're playing favorites.

The worst part is that it starts the service and connects to China without your consent or making you aware of it. At least I can turn off Google sync without any issues.

Very happy about this. Was thinking of picking up a Kinect when the original hackers made a USB driver and started an SDK. Decided to wait and I'm so glad Microsoft is actually pushing it like this. Would love to see it all tied in to Visual Studio and/or XNA.

Wouldn't be too terribly difficult. I'd make one and keep it simple. Was thinking of doing it on Android possibly.

As far as I can tell, Apple's new guidelines wouldn't let them put that app in the App Store anymore. Apple's guidelines say you have to sell through the app using their API and can't sell anywhere else. And you can't link to a place where customers can buy your service outside of Apple's control.

When I first found Tumblr, I didn't really get it. I wondered why I'd use the service when other services like WordPress are out there. Then I saw the quick, small side of it and wondered why I'd replace Twitter with it. But there is a great point here... It's a very good "in between" for people who don't want something too simple (allows them more control over content), but don't want something overly complex to set up or maintain, either.

Zelda is one of my all time favorites. I love the series so much. Can't wait for the new game.

Seeing this, though, makes me want to make an adventure game. Hmm....

Sad, but many people saw this coming when Apple announced the new terms. It's just another step for Apple being more restrictive. What's next?

Started with making text adventure games on my TI-83 calc back in freshman year of HS. I was curious as to how games worked and wanted to make my own.

After that, I took a programming class (the first one my HS offered) in Java. It was fun. By the end, I had made a tic tac toe game, a game of hangman, and a couple other smaller projects (was only a semester).

Then, since my school didn't offer any other programming classes, I took an independent study so I could work on learning C++. I didn't get too far with it because there was no structure to it (I used the book and tried to make cool games that often didn't go very far) and I didn't have anyone supervising me that knew C++ or OOP (the guy who sat in the room with me during the study only knew Visual Basic and wasn't a great programmer at all). I did end up making a program to solve limits and basic derivatives of functions for my Calculus II class, though. That was helpful.

From there, I went off to college and started a software engineering degree.

Yeah, but I don't want to have to be moved to the YouTube app. I want to know if I can use the built in browser to watch HTML5 videos. I know I can do it on YouTube with my PC browser if I enable it on my YT account...

Will the browser have full HTML5 support? Can I go to YouTube in it and watch videos without flash? I admittedly don't know much about the Android 3.0 browser.

75,000 applications a week? Guess I shouldn't be surprised with how big of a company Google is, but still crazy to see that number.

Something like this is huge if we're ever going to move towards a cloud based OS in the future. I can see why Google would push it so hard. Will be intereting to see how well it does and how much it's adapted.

I agree with you, but the N1 is starting to feel a little dated. It still runs great, but in a few more months, it will be at best a low-mid range phone.

I want a Tegra 2 device really badly. I've been tempted to get the Atrix, but I want to be able to install CyanogenMOD on my phone. Waiting to see the bootloader results. Hopefully it's not as bad as previous Motorola devices... If it is, I guess I wait. But I'm not holding my breath for a developer phone with a Tegra 2 anytime soon.

Interesting. Never really thought about this. I have multiple Google accounts, but never really sign in with both on any device besides my Android phone.

I like my iPad a lot, too. And I have a feeling I'd use a Xoom more than my iPad. But it's more a novelty thing. You can't be extremely productive on it like you can on a cheap netbook. I'm not saying they don't have a market, but it looks like an artifcially created market.

I think tablets will be immensely more useful in a few years when you can do a hell of a lot more on them.

I think people are making too big of a deal out of all these tablets coming out. Android 3.0 looks like a great OS and I'd love to have a device that runs it, but I don't think they're as useful as people believe them to be.

The main reason they're becoming so widespread is because carriers are offering them with 3G data plans. People use them for tethering, etc. I have an iPad that I hardly use. The thing is useful sometimes, but it's just so rare that I actually take it out to use it when I have my netbook, desktop, and an Android phone that's more powerful...

Absolutely a good sign. Hope it puts things in their favor. There have already been too many deaths.

That would be good, but then again - Apple was supposed to launch the White iPhone 4 a long time ago, too...
