By airing it out on Twitter, you put the other person on the defensive and they're less inclined to actually help you to resolve the original complaint.
Airing it out on Twitter is an escalation, and a decent outlet for escalating issues that are systematic and/or can't be resolved through other communication channels.

I don't care that the p90 UI latency performance is better, the p99 performance on Android devices is terrible (UI stuttering).

You're confusing CPU and memory pressure, and attributing blame to the wrong component.
Android's lack of smoothness is due to thread contention, whereas the iOS kernel uses a dedicated UI thread running at high priority. RAM size has no impact on UI performance, beyond a sufficient amount for the kernel.

I'm sorry you've had poor experience with Linux, I've had plenty of them myself.
I'm tired of dealing with ACPI / driver issues as well. That's why now I just buy ThinkPad and Intel-only chipsets. If you're going to use Linux, you have to research your hardware ahead of time (e.g. poor Atom support) or buy Linux laptops (Dell Ubuntu series, unofficially ThinkPad series).
I'm not trying to say everything's happy in Linux land. Printers are still a sore point, as are AMD / nvidia cards (Open or binary drivers? Multi-monitor support?).
Just to add another data point, Arch Linux on X220:
1. 4-6 hrs with 6 cell battery.
2. Yes, Intel everything (HD4000, wireless, etc).
3. Yes, 1 resume crash total this year.
4. Yes, attached to external monitor via DisplayPort -> DVI right now.
5. Never tested.
6. Small, crappy. I'm one of those guys who disables the touch pad in favor of TrackPoint though.
7. Much better IMO, not a fan of chiclet style and Apple's "mushy" keyboards.
This illustrates another pain point for Apple: the inability to change default applications.
Say Google releases a maps app for iPhone. Every time you get an address in a text, email, Facebook, Yelp, etc it's going to open up in Apple Maps requiring you to manually copy/paste everything in another app.
Probably because there's no easily accessible data store like IMDB for famous mathematicians or computer scientists.

htop (and by extension top) is for CPU / memory / load information only.

OTOH htop takes up ~2MB per instance, while glances is taking up ~13MB. Glances also doesn't have the ability to sort by columns except by CPU/mem %. You can't kill browse or kill processes from the list either.

I still care about Flash on mobile. Why? A lot of Asian sites (Chinese & Japanese) still use Flash for video and nav menus.

From what I remember from those accounts, traders often like to tweak algorithms at the last second and there is little to no QA before changes gets pushed live.
It's sort of a byproduct of the necessity for speed. Algorithms are quite complex, and even running a basic test suite that takes a few minutes may be deemed unnecessary.

Civilian pilots log plenty of flight time, but their flying experience is nothing compared to fighter pilots'. Time is not a substitute for quality.
My code has significantly improved compared to what I wrote a decade ago (or even a few months for that matter), but it's due to better resources (GitHub, etc), and exposure to better programming practices (SCM, TDD, CI, etc).
Computer science and software engineering is a relatively young field, and there is still plenty of room for improvement.
I did a lot of PHP over the years, trying to migrate over to a Python web stack.
A big hurdle is ops dev. All hosting services support PHP out of the box.
Now I'm faced with the "distro choice". Which server do I use (lighthttpd / nginx / tornado)? Which framework (django / flask / web2py / cherrypy / pylons / pyramid)?
Like the original author, I've had a VPS sitting unused for 2 months paralyzed by choices. I eventually decided on nginx / flask, but haven't had the time to set it up. Maybe I should have just used Heroku. shrugs

I've been to concerts and football games where people are holding up iPads up high to record videos / take photos. It's a distraction and a nuisance. I say good riddance.
I have my phone / DSLR to take photos, but I regularly video chat with friends and family and appreciate the front camera more. A 7" tablet seems more suited for the latter.
