I would suggest forcing the SSL across the board. I know, I know, I can type it in BUT it is just nice to have the little things work all on their own, even when I am logging in.
This is pretty damn rad. Personally, I would love to see an extension of this with a "pop-quiz" module that asks 3-5 questions with multiple choice answer. Think, text-books.
Congratulations on your development. It seems this has been done before, and albeit it is neat what is the benefit over a low-cost "standard" webhost? I can name a few webhosts that are in the $3-5 range and offer standard tools and the ability to install a SSL.
I have always felt that OwnCloud was just a personal "fun" alternative to great services like Dropbox. The DropBox business package, for the price, is not bad all in my own opinion.
Man, thank you so much for posting this. For a while I have been pondering on a few real estate based ideas, sadly I even half-assed a mobile cms for real estate, collected prospective agents and then let it all go.
I agree here, I see this as an online brainstorming session that the OP has provided. Yes, some have already been done but does that mean it cannot be done again? Competition analysis. As I see it, of there is enough reason to improve and clearly a market then why not look into creating an improved version?
If I recall, Cartier has wood glasses BUT I believe they have a metal backing. I dig the wood frames but yes, I would be skeptical of having that drift wood feel over time. On the flip side, have you heard of anyone with negative reviews on wood frames?
I have looked into https://leanpub.com and I definitely like this for a nice starting point and an incentive for keeping the momentum going. It seems it is preferred among some others around here as well. Very insightful, thanks!!
I was thinking this as well, minus the HN part. It is similar to what eBay sellers would do with a hot auction. Jump in on the bidding with a second username and run the price up to where either a) someone else outbids them or b) they find the highest bid, retract the bid and then bid right under the highest bidder.
Same scenario with Kickstarter. One could set an ideal funding point and run it up with fake fundings. Catch the attention of media and then hope that the bandwagon happens getting them more than what they are asking. Once funded over the amount, back out your fake fundings and voila - funded.
