The article is not about finance people supervising productive assets contributing half of GDP, but about regular people owning assets worth a sum equivalent to half of GDP and mostly not doing anything with it. The latter is much less of a problem than the former.

You're supposed to give it to the next generation.

In my country we don't keep old people around for their "wisdom". I will never understand how anyone can look at a geriatric and think yep I'm going to vote for this lol.
