My favorite thing about flying saucers is that they tend to look like the latest kitchen appliance. It's funny how aliens seem to have the same fascination with the Maytag catalog.

Great article, but the final paragraph is implausible: 'And what if the government does eventually get its hands on aliens and their flying saucers? “It’s not their job [to keep it secret],” he says. “It would immediately get turned over to Nasa, and Nasa would immediately disclose it to everybody. That’s THEIR job.”'

I'm far more certain it would be ultra-top-secret, with multiple layers of "need-to-know" and elaborate diversions, and with the emergence of multiple figures jostling for power who would compartmentalize the whole operation: divide and rule.

The X-Files nailed it, as did Dark Skies.

I am not so sure.

In 1996, a group of scientists found features in the likeness of microscopic fossils of bacteria in the meteorite, suggesting that these organisms also originated on Mars. The claims immediately made headlines worldwide, culminating in U.S. president Bill Clinton giving a speech about the potential discovery.
