Hollywood doesn't understand war or war weapons.

Depending on your interpretation of AI, we've been using computers since Dreadnaught class Battleships in WW1, let alone the proximity fused / vacuum tube airburst AA rounds of WW2.

Programming a round to explode exactly when you want it to is basically an AI, easy to use and very effective.

Programmable burst grenade launchers can kill around corners, and is a standard tactic. You'll never see this stuff in a Hollywood movie because it's just brutal killing.

AIs in Hollywood are smart enough to play a Hollywood Villain, but not smart enough to kill the hero of the film.

Artificial Intelligence has many meanings, but I've never seen it used to classify devices with timed explosions based on simple criteria.

In my experience, "Artificial Intelligence" is simply a job humans do right now, that computers can do with current, or slightly future, technology. If computers do it (and have been doing it) for a while, its given a new name.

Ex: "Reading text" used to be an AI job. today its called optical character recognition, or OCR.

In WW2, you'd need a pilot to kamikaze an airplane into a ship, or whatever other target, with reasonable accuracy. Today, we have autonomous flying machines that do the same thing. But we've been doing it for decades so its not AI anymore.

Honestly, if you could load an M777 155mm gun with the same reliability and cheapness as a grunt soldier, you'd probably have a bigger effect on modern warfare than hypothetical $billion AIs running off of 5000 GPUs.

We _do_ have autoloaders for M109 Paladins and such. But getting the cost down and reliability up is a big deal.
