South Korea might be the next clean energy giant. while we put a lot of attention on China and Europe, South Korea is making some huge steps forward...

i think the important point, as discussed in the comments at the top, is that they had a genuine knowledge breakthrough. for those of us wishing for immediate technological change, it may not sound like a lot, but for the scientists who have been working on this issue for decades, it is huge. & yes, we don't know yet, but hopefully it will lead to something more soon.

a lot more government money goes into other forms of energy, though

if you read through the article, you'll see that solar capacity more than doubled from 2009-2010. it would be nice if it included previous growth, which actually was similar. but this is more about the future based on what is happening now and expected in the future... i'm sure they used the previous years' data though & showing those data in such a graph would be useful as well. however, the site covers that regularly, so I think the regular readers are quite familiar with the info.

however, they do have more data than just about anyone, so they are better fit to do such analyses

@ax0n: yeah, the grid-connected solar farms and large-scale solar thermal projects are really starting to come in. a ton in the pipeline too.
