As the maintainer of Plank Reloaded, the most common bug report I get is "this app has the wrong icon." It's almost never the dock - it's a broken StartupWMClass in the app's .desktop file. I was one of those devs long ago. The shareware model worked wonders.

This model should be done more. Develop the product in the open, offer a fully functional open source version, and then offer a paid version on commercial app stores.

This can bring in some extra revenue for the project, plus covers the app store dev work.

I bet a bunch of users would buy it just to support the dev team. Plus I would argue an app store purchase (one click) can be done faster/easier than any donation flow I have seen for an open-source project.

Primarily I stream from Pandora, Spotify and Soundcloud through Sonos. Then I have Sonos scrobble everything to Last.fm.

I still find Pandora to be the best for finding new artists, I just create new stations and see what they recommend.

This is a very natural phenomenon. I can definitely relate.

Honestly, the framework was one of the better purchases I have made. There were definitely some Bluetooth hiccups, but all other functionality worked perfectly out of the box on Arch. The wiki included a few key tips.

Figured this thread would be full of eggdrop comments. So many good memories writing TCL scripts back in the 90's. Really happy to see the project is still developed, definitely a part of internet history for me.

So, randomly I come across this right after I setup my Framework laptop for Arch. Funny thing is, I also transitioned from a 1st gen X1 Extreme.

Cool to see you getting NixOS running, Arch on the Framework has worked flawlessly. So much nicer than the X1.
