google has to make money. flash is awesome. you can run it free on their infra and the performance and latency is excellent for what you wait and pay for right now, with great perf per watt. every person in the world going to google.com runs it. every query. its far larger than free gpt, localhost qween and what not.

it's their pro that isn't awesome at all. in fact, their pro kinda suck now that everyone else woke up.

how many hn posts do you believe arent propaganda these days?

its billions, trillions were talking about.

imo hn should display posters origin, such as country, bon, datacenter registered ips, and the discourse will change dramatically.

as usual these things are presented as new and revolutionary but aren't actually.

the specific process and implemention however are usually newer or slightly different from before.

this is our sensationalistic based society - any iterative progress, or sometimes even copy, is explained as a revolution.

now show me a 737 using 40% less fuel - guess what - that wont happen - however, perhaps we'll get a slightly better process to create aircraft skins. keep in mind you cant re-sand a fuselage every week, it needs to work reliably with no maintenance.

i really don't mind the GIMP UI but then again I used it for a very long time, so perhaps that's why (same for PS, I'm a 1.0 user).

On the flip side, I'd love a darktable that is closer the lightroom's UI, for similar reasons. Somehow, i find it more difficult to get the same speed and flow with darktable.

additionally: Google reports on their own jail breaks (who is project zero?!! lol). apple does not.

in fact apple fixed several high criticality bugs like these not that long ago - they just dont talk about it other than "you must fix now".

same problems, different comms, and the more people do this, the less transparent google will be.

extrapolating that line of thinking: "why does computer run malware, i asked it to not run malware ever!”

another fun parallel: "run this [...] and make no mistake ".

human context is just as bad as llms, i swear

even 900mhz sux vs 433. the lower the better it penetrates matter for the same amplitude.

lower than 430 you start to run into severe bandwidth issues though. and its not allowed to transmit lora/dss on 430 in the us without license hence the 900mhz

at 2.4ghz the real world usage is limited. might as well use wifi. the only advantage is short range bandwidh while keeping lora compat.

DeepSeek v4 3 months ago

bold to think half the comments here arent from deepseek itself :)

I personally love the bit "us initiated tech war" lol. thats right, they started making AI its their fault! bad imperialist US !

yeah, v5 will do better

yeah.. but.. it cost more overall. i can kust buy a brand new laptop every 3y and its cheaper if i stick to other brands.
