Von Braun was a chief rocket engineer of the Third Reich and later on became one of the fathers of the U.S. space program. His accomplishments in space technology are mindboggling.

read paul graham's essays, he specifically has an essay on writing. assuming you're a hacker yourself, should'nt be difficult to understand them. try rewriting them, helps immensely.

GGS is an amazing read. never found a more elegant and simple explanantion of the history of mankind. in hindsight it looks perfectly rational and logical.

i guess the key is a combination of various factors,one probably is the no-nonsense design and features, it really is what they claim as social utility,next gud move was opening up to genral public..and then the media attention they've been receiving..
