One super-useful key combo which is often overlooked is C-x-e, which edits the current command in $EDITOR. Very useful when dealing with history and long commands that need parameter editing.

I wonder if atuin could parse tags if given at the end of a command, after a # ?

sudo somecommand arg1 arg2 # admin mpv arg1 # media

I have work-related stuff that I'd love to be able to tag and then filter history based on that. Hmm now that I think of it, maybe it will just work like that anyway.

There's a lot of misunderstanding of the word karma. This "I still regret/think about" you are referring to is actually one of the true natures of karma. Your actions have an affect, often or especially on yourself. Sorry if that all sounds preachy, but it's something to reflect on. I think you're ignoring the entertainment value of hitters getting more hits. In general, more balls in play means more exciting scenarios. Baseball, a beautiful game, has an innate natural balance in its dimension and timing. Yes, I like a good pitchers duel as well. But for reasons of likely the sticky stuff, the scales are currently tilted too far towards the pitcher.

Funny, I started my obsession about two months ago. If you like this stuff, I recommend checking out the UK show 'Time Team'. Each episode they do an archaeological dig spanning three days, to see if they can piece together what was going on in a particular site. Many of their digs are on old Roman sites in England.

There's 17 seasons of it, most of which is on Amazon Prime (I think youtube has episodes as well). It's been my goto show lately for interesting entertainment during the pandemic.

I've only been using the french press more now because my home office is upstairs, and the Clever Dripper stays in the kitchen. With the press I can bring it up with me and save 4 whole minutes in my 'commute' :-)

I have an AeroPress, a french press, and a Clever Dripper.

While I like the AeroPress, I don't find it makes enough coffee in one go. The Clever Dripper is basically a french press with a #4 filter, so you still get a filtered cup - no sludge (you do miss out on the oils though). It's a foolproof method to a great cup of coffee.

Curious: I have an Encore and I still get a bit of fine sludge. I'm grinding on about 21. What setting are you using?

It's not as good as sublime in my experience, and I haven't used kakoune, but it's very serviceable.

Tabs are placed in the sidebar, nested in collapsible trees, with a scrollbar. It's a major game changer.

Hmm, I've been using a combination of multi-account containers and Cookie AutoDelete [0]. I'm going to try temporary containers out - it should have a broader protection coverage than just deleting cookies.

Yes, I find the about:config option stickiness behaviour isn't intuitive. I am guessing that a lot of people don't realize that if you set options in user.js they stay set until you manually unset them, even if you remove the user.js file.

I agree. I would rather pay them some fee. But they don't seem to want to monetize their service via user fees.

I use borg backup running via cron multiple passes per day. When needed you can mount any backup as a file system for easy restoration. Yes, short-lived files can't be recovered, but that's something I am willing to live with.
