I used to think of my home setup as a homelab but I've realized for about 4 years now I barely do anything with it beyond what it's supposed to do. I just have some basic services running, most time spent over the last 4 years has to do with broadcom acquiring vmware so I had to switch to Proxmox, and then just moving houses and having to setup again.

There was some problem with the first gen that you would hear static, Apple replaced those if you contacted support. Happened to me just before end of 1 yr warranty and kinda funny but they had me mail in my airpods to be replaced and lost them. So they ended up sending me a new pair and iirc $100 gift card for the trouble.

Stopped after repeating the false claim that bmw charges a subscription for heated seats.

I find the "wrong" FN keyboards annoying like OP, but the Home/End to Pgup/Dn grouping of keys is what really makes or breaks a great keyboard layout for me.

Anyone else scan their random junk that has QR codes to see where it goes? I've found a fair number of stuff has codes that do nothing. Bought an extra garage door opener remote, qr code on it does nothing. Got some SwitchBot gear, qr codes do absolutely nothing.

I have M2 Air with 8 and don't have problem either. Even runs WoW ok.

As an IT person, I wonder what it's like to work for a company like this. Where presumably IT stuff has a priority. Unlike the companies I've worked for where IT takes a backseat to everything until something goes wrong. Company I work had a huge new office built, with the plan it would be big enough for future growth, yet despite repeated attempts to reserve a larger space, our server room and infrastructure is actually smaller than our old building and has no room to grow.

To me I really liked the fact that when you made your character in SWG (1 per server too), you are just a civilian. There's no light/dark side or rebellion/imperial choice to make, you're just a regular person in the galaxy. You are NOT the hero.

A bunch of the mech eng at my work have switched from 2 monitors to big tvs for doing their CAD stuff.

I've been getting into sim racing lately and a majority of the youtube reviewers do this thing where they claim it's not a sponsored video but the company sent them the product for free. And that's the same problem when it was magazines publishing glowing reviews of mediocre products just so the gravy train of free stuff doesn't end.

Maybe because you were already in New Mexico which has some pretty good dark areas? I'm up in Santa Fe, I don't need to drive long to get fairly dark.

My local Costco has finally added self-checkout registers. I noticed that the receipt is a different color than the ones you would normally get if you went to a cashier. I assume the exit people who check your receipt look more closely when it's a self-checkout one.

Off topic I guess, but the font that article uses is throwing my eyes for a loop. The lower-case 't' in particular, but I am also not fond of the number '3' either.

I am still happily running FreeNAS 11. I haven't updated to 12 and it's name change to TrueNAS. Anyway, the amount of janitoring I have to do with it is very minimal. Over the last year, less than 1 hour of time spent total.
