Gambling! They are already working on a prediction market product. I could see slot machines next.

Yeah I’m a security researcher and my colleagues who have access say it’s insanely good… but interestingly they also work for places like nvidia which have a deep vested interest selling tokens and hardware. So of course they are pushing this narrative.
I hate thinkpads. I was a traveling consultant for nearly a decade. I had three thinkpads and two completely broke within 2 years. The third was ok but when replaced with a MacBook pro I became an apple convert.
Your body adjusts to using fat as fuel. I’m no scientist/doctor but I’m training for a marathon and I find I perform much better than when using gels or bars or any of that other processed ‘fuel’ I used to use.
I also love weightlifting while being fasted. One meal end of day for me has put me in the best shape I ever have in 36 years. So much that I actually took up running haha.
If you were laid off, chances are you weren't valuable enough. Pure layoffs happen. But from my experience useful employees almost never get let go.
I completely disagree, I’ve been on teams where the best players were let go because organizational changes.
As a matter of fact, I’m currently on a team where one of our best performing, well loved, cross team contributors was let go during Christmas for what I can only classify as politics. It was a company wide RiF and our manager protested, but he was in the target region. I honestly would have put myself or others on the chopping block first, as I don’t contribute half as much and get pad substantially more.
What a dystopia. If anything the situation in Minnesota should teach liberal Americans that they all need to arm themselves massively.
They are doing that all over San Antonio and Austin.
I’m not a fan of Obama but he wasn’t saying that ICE agents get full immunity and have no consequences like our current VP is tweeting.
20k loc?!
Most of the projects I’ve worked on in my career have been ten to hundreds of millions lines of code!
I am now in my mid 30’s but moving to a second tier city may be one of the best life choices.
I have a small sample but all my New York and SF friends are still single, living in apartments, and grinding at great innovative companies.
My friends in Seattle, Austin, Chicago, seem to have much chiller more fulfilling lives where they have families, real estate, weird funky interests and hobbies.
I recently got really into watches.
What do you mean? You’re not getting applicant resumes to your smaller org?
I personally turned down an Apple offer because they required 3 days in office and went this a much smaller fully remote team.
And most of my friends and colleagues would take a full remote role that pays half what big tech, 5 days in office pays. Add in an extra week of PTO and you have a great pitch to devs.
Unfortunately the GOP is very excited at the prospect of sending soldiers, drones, and arms to participate in the Mexico cartel wars… and let’s not even talk about school shootings.
Are Chinese ships not already delivering products and welcomed?
I was Peru last year and saw nothing but Chinese made electronics, especially phones, and a lot of cars. I see more and more Chinese electric cars in Mexico too. Talking to the locals they seem to like Chinese tourists just wish they spent as much as Americans.
Unfortunately the largest cotton producing country is china, followed by India.
My grandparents actually worked and met at a denim factory in west Texas which was renowned for its cotton production. Growing up I remember giant cotton fields which have all been replaced with strip malls and sprawl.
It’s going to be a multi-year project at the very least. And even then probably still cheaper to make clothes in Vietnam.
Throughout my long career in the tech industry, from established giants like Oracle to a hyper-growth pre-IPO Airbnb, I've observed a consistent pattern: engineers rarely advance more than one level above their initial hiring position, regardless of their performance or tenure.
The only exception were juniors who could rise to a senior. But senior to staff, or whatever you want to call it is almost unheard of unless you jump ship.
Isn’t nearly every tech worker on this forum using an apple product ‘Designed in California’ but actually made in china
This already happened with TikTok. The congressional law had very specific terms for a 90day delay. Trump just signed another 75day extension after the last failed .
Processing almost 200 transactions per day demanded a solution capable of processing high volumes during peak hours without any compromises.
That is surprisingly low.
My teams work on a mobile app with 20+million lines and tens of thousands non generated lines being added every day. That is not an exaggeration. Cursor has no idea what to even do at that scale.
But even if cursor could understand the app, my other team works on the build pipelines which is another several million LOC projects that are interacting with dozens of services and used by several teams.
Maybe in a few years but currently it is completely untenable for LLM’s to work on these codebases in any meaningful way. And these are not unique, I’ve worked at many fortune 20 companies where the key product is 10 of millions of LOC of mess.
Even for personal projects cursor wrongly edits simple things like the wrong config.yaml, as it is in a different directory. I like it but it has major gaps.
You said you worked sales right? In order to validate your idea you need to write a list of every flower shop in town and visit in person. 90% will be too busy but the remaining will drop priceless info.
Sounds like your main problem is not going after a specific problem that people have expressed, not that you think would work.
AI founder yet this company appears to test models?
I do believe that. We are talking about the admin that launched Trumpcoin which soared to tens of billions in market cap in the last few days.
Why do you hate the idea of someone trying to start a new business so much that you make 15+ comments on this thread?
This is ycombinator, you know the startup accelerator.
How many are h1b1?
But aren’t most cars on the road at the same high traffic times?
I need a ride a 9am and 5pm just like half the city. People keep talking about fleets being in demand and your Tesla becoming a taxi while you sit on your office but wouldn’t everyone else’s also?
Ski, hike and swim.
Looking at those stats, only 11% fully oppose. The 57% is for recreation and medical, 32% for only medical. So it seems like your bending the truth for your argument, which doesn't surprise me since you're a lawyer.
Probably not in scope for Project Zero? Or they find other stuff more interesting.
Security researchers don't work for free. I did some light searching and I couldn't find any sanctioned audits against Bitcoin core. The Bitcoin team should hire someone like trail of bits to do a multiple month audit.
