Marc ensured the market expanded with his wise bet. I doubt he has any regrets. Who knows whether Instagram would have expanded unless they were motivated to get to a point of turning their backs on A16Z. $ talks.

Yeah, there's a side project I've been wanting to build for a long time, and it needs search. But the way these prices have been presented, it seems that CloudSearch is just not economically feasible for a SaaS / free multiuser offering.

On a side note, how hard would it be to write a WordPress extension that generates static HTML every time you write a new post or a new comment gets approved/submitted?

$180 for a flight tomorrow AM on southwest SFO LAX. That's $360 RT. Of course Palo Alto is more convenient than SFO and you're going to be taking a $100 car ride each way that's $200. So $560. Four times a month and it's a bargain... I know plenty of people from Palo Alto who had made that type of commute twice a week.
