This, I have lived in the Bay Area for ~5 years now and I've seen <5 cars pulled over on a highway since being here.
I received this but never saw it until I read articles about this. It was automatically sent to the spam box on gmail.
I don’t think it’s important to know the absolute numbers but rather the relative values and rough orders of magnitude.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to explain to developers why their network attaches storage has higher latency than their locally attached NVME SSD
The problem is that radio altimeters are pretty old
Interestingly the 737-200 is excluded from this airworthiness directive. 737-200s are the oldest, still-operating members of the 737 family.
But why do this on the modem, why not on the router?
App is dead for me, has been for two hours now. Their status page[1] shows extremely low QPS for this time period. Their twitter[2] has acknowledged a problem, but the status page still shows green.

I’ve had a few day trips up to Abhayagiri monastery near Ukaih, CA. It’s incredibly peaceful.

Strange, I'm on Verizon too and its not blocked
Her official congressional account was not suspended, only her personal account.
I’ve had regular issues with the software. Every few versions of the AP firmware seems to break mDNS. All wired clients in the VLAN will see the multicast packets but none of the wireless clients will. Super frustrating since it breaks Chromecast and airplay. Luckily when I upgrade to a broken firmware it’s easy enough to downgrade to a working version.

"Just" as in August 6th.
Status page now reflects the outage
Down for me in California
Downtime detector shows it down since 7:30PST which is about when I started having issues: https://downdetector.com/status/signal/
Yes, but it's been taken down. I can't query the dataset to see if I, personally, have been exposed.
Name -> passport # isn't concerning?
I visited Thailand about six times in the last four years so this is a bit concerning to me. I really wish there were more details and hope that I can find out if my data was exposed as a part of this.
It's in the App Store here:
Some corporations have exhausted the RFC1918 address space. After exhausting that they tend to fall back to the space allocated to CGNAT. And once that is finally exhausted they tend to fall back to privately used public IP addresses (PUPI addresses). We allow all of this on GCP in our VPCs: https://cloud.google.com/vpc/docs/vpc#valid-ranges
Disclaimer: I work at Google. In cloud, not on Android.
I am privacy conscious so I though I would give a try at Graphene OS, it was brutal. It was overall stable and the stock android R was refreshing. The app selection available through F-droid was very limiting and the quality of apps was a struggle compared to those in the app store.
I wish there was some incentive for the better apps to open source and publish on F-droid. I donate to many apps on Patreon, should I just message to the devs and ask them to go open source and publish on f-droid?
"beginning later today"
Even US Citizens are subject to search at the border without warrant or probable cause.
Recently I had a CBP officer at SFO ask to search photo gallery when returning from vacation.
I think it is still helpful, at least for MacOS. My work 2018 MBP was feeling slow. I reimaged it last October and now it feels like new.
And that's only on the laptops. Two monitors are supported on the Mac Mini.
Over the winter covid case rates were pretty bad in Latin America. Thailand was at less than 100 cases/day, with a large fraction being caught in these quarantine facilities. Thailand seemed like the safer option.
Also it was a 7 week stay, so 2 weeks of quarantine was quite short compared to the duration of the trip.
Hmm I have no issues with it on my Pixel 5.
Agreed. I did this in December in Thailand and I had no problems. Just come in with a plan to stay busy the two weeks. I was able to work remotely which took up the majority of my time.
