Why is anyone surprised, Governments have the power to do this, if you don't like it, take that power back.

On one side you have people asking Governments to ban Games like GTA, on the other you have people who are surprised Governments use the power they have to "protect the children".

Only solution to this i think is to limit Govt's power and The majority of people using a constitution.

Just keep in mind that governments that take powers never give it back.

I agree, however we should support projects like this, i think many engineers including myself dream of being able to make a living via open-source.

Governments do horrific things their citizens don't support from time to time, i don't think that the US government represented all americans when they decided to drop atomic bombs in 1945.

Did he blame the victims? or do you really believe that the french government is the victim? and not the citizens of paris.

Suppose that this less privacy equals greater safety, is it smart allowing the government to have this sort of power over us? Sure maybe the current government is awesome and really wants to keep us "safe", what if the next president is an evil tyrant who suddenly has all that power.

People can ultimately use any tool to do evil imho, would you like the government to control who can buy knives and cars for example? both of them can be used to do evil acts.
