If you plan to watch most of your movies in 4K, you probably should wait about 10 years before buying a new TV... the movie industry doesn't adapt very quickly and cable compresses everything so much that you can't even get true 1080 even if they say that they have HD

Probably besides your point but: Instead of cropping that cat picture, they set a custom size in html that doesn't match the picture's ratio... if you want to see the cat's real proportions, right click on the picture and click view image.

I pretty much agree with you except for the fact that NT3.5 and NT4 should not be included in this list because they were not consumer versions... and I would rate DOS as good. Also, I am not sure if 8.1 should be considered a major as I never used it.

Microsoft historically released a good OS version at about every 2 major versions... could Windows 10 be the start of a good version at every 3 major release?

It seems like the only hope is that they would switch back to a pen and paper system and never digitalize the data... or if they would use an air gap, that would be a good start. But of course you have to make sure that you never say your data around an android phone, an iphone, an amazon device, a smart TV, etc...

For the ethernet port, it is very much Apple's style... but either way, using consumer Apple devices for servers only make sense if you get them for free (civil forfeiture for example)...
