Skimmed your linked paper. It seems they were able to classify hashes up to ~8% top-1 accuracy and ~30% top-10. Not exactly a blurred version, or any images at all.

So for example, they can say that you probably have images of trees, or images of buildings, but without much other data & very low accuracy.

I'd still be a lot more concerned about them simply flagging political images rather than trying to get a broad understanding of what type of photos I have

Now, it doesn't really matter what their ethnicity was, but there is a higher likelihood of them being of the same ethnicity. Especially if my first language is niche, the chances of hiring the same ethnicity would be higher.

I've reported security bugs to Apple before. Was a couple years back but I remember it taking around 6 months to patch (there was a couple back and forth for me to get a more reliable POC). Maybe 2 months from when I submitted a POC with 100% reproducibility

I've learnt jujutsu. It took me a couple weeks to get it but 100℅ worth it. I've always intuitively understood git but jj does make a lot of annoying things easy. My commit history is now much cleaner than ever before. It's not for everyone though. Takes a lot of upfront investment to learn when git is often already good enough.

The annoying thing is that even if you yourself don't use these glasses, as long as people around you do, you are still affected by it. We really need laws to limit always-on recording devices in places where we have an expectation of privacy.

Wildy varies. I'm a new grad and got my first offer after 8 applications and got another offer last week unprompted. Meanwhile my friend graduating from the same university has done 300 applications and a couple dozen interviews with no offer.
