Is there some kind of list out there on IPv6 support of popular APIs? Would love to eliminate IPv4 egress but not even Stripe supports IPv6 for their API yet
Apart from this, that has left the timeline completely broken, has anyone else noticed that the timeline on mobile doesn't auto-update anymore? It's often out of date and I have to refresh it manually, which I didn't use to. Maybe a hardcore measure to save server capacity?
As much as I don't like Musk, I think there is a good proposition for the YouTube-model of paying for an ad-free experience. However, aside that YouTube is a place with much better content, YouTube costs ~$5/monthly and is actually ad-free instead of half ad-free. How one can think this is a good idea is beyond me

Corruption and inefficiency of this kind is a relatively new phenomenon, stemming from a regime of letting private contractors run the whole show. A fun fact is that Stockholm has one of the most expensive buildings in the world: Nya Karolinska, which has cost (converted from Swedish currency) around 2 billion dollars. The reason behind this is that construction was run as a public-private partnership. Meaning you shove loads of cash into private hands while you get none of the benefit.
The devs don't work for the Stockholm region nor the government. They are contractors. Stockholm is notorious for terrible fragmented outsourcing programs
What you're saying, especially the part about "slightly better organised and attract students that care enough about their education" is talking point rhethoric and not anything substantiated in fact. The schools get a fixed amount of money per student from the state. If you have students with high socio-economic status, you can get away with having fewer teachers per student, as well has having teachers that aren't properly educated. One of the more prominent for-profit charter schools is the "International English School" (IES). They aren't only "English" for marketing purposes (because being an "English" school means you can do more marketing about teaching with "higher discipline"), they are also "English" because that allows them to get away with recruiting more teachers from abroad. This is what for-profit charter schools are about. You can't "optimize" what's essentially a service institution. You can only cut to better your margins. Or cheat, which they do. Not only by having fewer authorized teachers, but also by straight up inveting better grades for students, which is something that helps with marketing (see a pattern here?).
Profit-driven schools don't cater to gifted kids. They cater to kids with rich and highly educated parents. The goal is to do less, to extract more profit.
The requirement of 401c(3)s to be "non-political" looks like a pretty weird to someone that doesn't live in the US. Why do non-profits have to work with that suppression while for-profit companies won't? Does anyone here know the historical context for this?
Weird how you can consider this a "clusterf%%%" as opposed to the existance of Uber itself: an unprofitable company that only barters for monopoly power while treating everyone down the chain like shit.
Not that I'm behind splitting up companies. Everything that turns into a monopoly should be nationalized instead.
The Touch Bar really annoys me too. Not that having some sort of status display is bad, but replacing actual useful keys with ones that give you no haptic feedback on key presses, is really terrible design. When I shop computers for colleagues I usually buy 2015 Macbooks to save them from the terrible experience that it is to use a newer one.
