Far better to let the company be punished for its failings, so it can (slowly, slowly) adjust, or be replaced by companies that operate better.
Well, if the company is replaced due to lack of heroes, doesn’t this mean that it actually needs heroes?
The industry as a whole might not need them, and it may be bad for individual heroes (though I think it’s more nuanced than that), but it seems to me like any particular company might need them.
Sarkar argues that “AI shaming arises from a class anxiety induced in middle class knowledge workers, and is a form of boundary work to maintain class solidarity and limit mobility into knowledge work.”
I think there is at least some truth to this.
Another possible cause of AI shaming is that reading AI writing feels like a waste of time. If the author didn’t bother to write it, why should I bother to read it and provide feedback?
I’d use a boilerplate like SaaS Pegasus.

Agree that this helps in some ways, but it also adds complexity. You can e.g. subscribe to a billing SaaS, but then you have to link your system to the billing system somehow
I saw an interesting idea floating around a while back: Put in a screen instead of the trackpad. I can see it being useful for drawing as well as picking emojis and so on, but it couldn’t be always available like the touch bar can.

Have you considered adding a “business app” category? Thinking of things like CRMs and learning management systems. Maybe Salesforce would be the holotype?

There is one crucial piece missing, though: universities’ incentives. At least in Norway where I live, universities are paid the same for many STEM, humanities and social sciences programs. This causes an oversupply of e.g. historians compared to e.g. software developers, as universities are free to ignore labor market realities.

I don’t have access to the statistic you are referring to, so we might be talking past each other. But, as far as I can tell, macOS is a growing part of Apple’s revenue, at least over the last year:

Mac, on the other hand, grew by 69 percent year over year.
Mac sales went from $5.4B to a record $9.1B year-over-year.

How productive are you with FastAPI compared to Django? I’m thinking of things like forms, error handling and all the other extra stuff that comes with decoupling the frontend and backend.
Scale by Geoffrey West and Why Information Grows by Cesar Hidalgo both support on the idea that we need a lot of people to have a high standard of living.
They come at it from different angles, but agree that (large) social networks are crucial for the generation and execution of ideas.
