Kids who are smart and curious have already been exposed to the internet since they were 8/9 years old. So a few years of learning they're already knowledgeable by the time they're in their teens.

No responsibilities and all the time in the world to learn with the right circumstances, they can go far.

Older devs who are experts in this area are already busy making money and working on their employer's security.

I left last year after working there for ~8 years.

It's night and day; EA when I left was a great place to work at. Work life balance was a priority, a lot of communication from execs, coworkers were great.

My only gripe with them is the revolving door of contractors, QA and devs alike.

Well it solved a lot of pain points with the target market.

I remember my friends and I kept bickering who would pay for this month's bill for the vent/mumble servers. That kept on for years until I had enough and hosted my own in a droplet in digital ocean. None of my friends knew how to do that since they're not very technical.

Discord you just had to click a couple buttons and its free.

It was getting there.

I remember Bitcoin was getting a wider adoption for payment back in 2013ish. I paid for my domain from namecheap in Bitcoin back then.

But it then blew up and everyone treated it more as a store of value and it made all the shops stop accepting it as payment due to its volatility.
