Ask HN: How can I work on energy?

yellow_lead
4pts4

I just use it as Google, like 'ts Omit example' or something.

so I don't get exhausted. If you write complete sentences and say please to the clankers, you're definitely gonna waste energy.

I agree they are too slow though, especially when they "Think" for so long and then say "something went wrong" after 30s.

Not for me, I always turn off animations. It feels fine for me, and I can operate the phone a lot quicker without having to wait for animations to complete.

BlackSmith should get in this thread and explain themselves.

Also, can the author tell us how much this would have cost on GH actions?

Never heard of this product, but seems like Beeper, but more expensive if you want to use more than 3 messaging services.

Beeper is completely free, but the downside is it was acquired by Automattic (the WordPress company with the CEO who crashed out over WP Engine)

Fun reminder of how many times Meta/Facebook has tried and failed to build hardware products. Considering all the Metaverse layoffs, Quest is probably next.

At least now, you can use their old hardware to run code generated by a competitor (Anthropic)!

Vibecoded Photoshop exists

wine tracking app I referenced above is one of them. All it needs is an expert in the field who knows the constraint model.

Uh, where?

The reason we don't have a vibecoded Photoshop

I think the credit belongs to Sascha still. Look at this:

The agent surfaced a suspicious issue: the anetd pods in our Google Kubernetes Engine cluster were restarting constantly, around 120 restarts per pod over six days, which is almost one crash per hour. Surely, this couldn't be right!

Sascha dug into the crash dumps. The stack trace pointed to a concurrent map-access panic, multiple goroutines trying to read and write to the same data structure at the same time without proper locking. But the key detail was where the panic happened: inside the Wireguard module of anetd.

AI: Your anted pod is crashing.

Engineer: Looks in the logs and finds a stack trace.

Your agent didn't find the bug. It's really that simple.

You joined only a month ago? It sounds like you suggested changes too quickly. Egos may be hurt by the new guy saying "you're doing everything wrong."

Poltics goes a long way in this. You need to make others happy first and build up some goodwill first. If you want to tough it out here, do this first, make some allies, and then slowly suggest changes.

Don't suggest to everyone at once, try to build consensus for your changes one engineer at a time. Ideally you'd make friends with the lead or others you can pitch to first privately.
