How do you have a burn rate of only $18,500/mo with seven (apparently) full-time employees? Is that burn rate net of some kind of revenue, or are your seven employees making an average annual salary of about $31K each? Even for TN that seems awfully low.

As a point of reference, in SV a ballpark OPEX for 7 employees in a startup would be $80-90K.

Love it - I find myself emailing myself notes and links several times a day, and this is a big time saver.

Two suggestions:

1) make a Chrome and FF browser extension for it, so you can get a first-class button on the browser (or be in the right-click menu). Bookmarklets are quick and easy, but I don't display my bookmarks bar in Chrome, so I have to go hunt for it. By contrast, my Bit.ly chrome extension has a cute little yellow fish button at the top of my browser all the time, and so gets mindshare and use every day.

2) The notes are sent without a subject line. Would recommend a subject something like "[cctome] First 30 or so characters of note..."

> But, because our food sources no longer in jeopardy, that evolutionary urge which led to our survival in the wild now leads to the vice known as procrastination.

and to obesity.

Interestingly, Google should still be counting those who click through to a NYTimes article, hit the paywall, and bounce. So the 40% drop is the result of 1) users not clicking NYTimes links anymore, or 2) fewer NYTimes links being presented to users, perhaps due to a drop in SERPs.

I'm a datapoint of only one, but #1 above certainly applies in my case. I find myself much less likely to click through, especially on my mobile device, because I'm annoyed when I find myself above the monthly free limit. After hitting the limit a couple of months, I just stop clicking thru in the first place.

Ah, there is some fine print:

Looks like Facebook was similarly flat last May - Aug (2010) - this might just be a seasonal thing.

Nice try, Meizu marketer. :)

On a serious note, my MacBook Air 13 is 1440 x 900 - not 1280 x 800.

Change from search terms to websites, and Google trends tells a different story: http://trends.google.com/websites?q=okcupid.com%2C+plentyoff...

My guess is googling for "okcupid" all as one word is relatively more frequent than "plentyoffish" as one word, and here's confirmation using Google Insights for Search, which allows OR queries:

http://www.google.com/insights/search/#q=%28okcupid%20%2B%20...

As much as the PoF guy's pontificating gets old to me, and agree with your Facebook-MySpace analogy, he's still killing OKCupid traffic-wise.

I'm curious what the HN crowd thinks about using Google Insights for Search as a proxy for measuring consumer traction. Thoughts?

"Only"?!

24% is a remarkable position for Zuckerberg to have maintained to this point, considering the amount of money they've raised and the "public" market cap of Facebook. Many founder/ceos of much smaller companies find themselves at around 10-20% after two or three rounds.
