Eddie was only 21 in this film? I rewatched it recently, such a classic. I believe Jamie Lee was 21 also. She recently stated in an interview that the nude scenes made her very uncomfortable but she wasn’t pressured into them.

One building I worked at had their DMARC room/closet only accessible from the handicapped stall in the men’s restroom. Yup.
This is a pretty devastating development for a country founded on equality for all. The bittersweet irony is that this was set in motion by the insane woke liberal mobs of the last few decades and their blatantly racist and sexist DEI policies.
Using an AI-generated image as the header for an article about people losing their jobs to AI is a supremely cunty move IMO. Why does Yahoo even still exist?
Gambling seems to have exploded over FAANG this year. The majority of ads I see on YouTube are for gambling companies. I was in the UK last month and it’s 100x worse there. A sure sign of decaying economies.
Reminds me of when America spent millions of dollars inventing the ballpoint pen so astronauts could write in space. Russians used a pencil.
I remember discovering McKenna in the late 90’s when I first got internet access at home. The comparison with Alex Jones is a good one: he was initially very interesting, sparking the imagination that whole worlds existed out there that I didn’t know about. But quickly it fell apart and I understood it was just horseshit, a form of fantasy.
I’ve never tripped but it sounds similar to fever dreams I had a few times when I was sick as a child, running high temperatures. Why anyone would choose to experience that is another question.
Reading that McKenna was just another for-profit bullshit artist at the end of the day is the sad part. Exploring ideas and possibilities is a noble pursuit, but only if you can admit to mistakes and failures. Deciding to carry on to make money is weak and undermines everything. His legacy could have been as someone who dedicated his life to understanding psychedelics and gave an honest, well-researched evaluation at the end of it all. Money and celebrity status ruined all of that.
Austin, TX had a reputation for being very vegan friendly until COVID hit and many small businesses shut down. Now it’s as bad as anywhere else.
I went on a hike at a national park in Scotland a few months ago, and they had a small cafe there with limited options for everyone. Even they had solid vegan options though. Blows my mind that this cafe was more welcoming than the majority of restaurants in a major liberal city.
I spent 2 weeks in the UK recently and they are light years ahead of the US in terms of veganism and cruelty free products. I was actually quite shocked about how many options the grocery stores had and how almost every restaurant had a vegan option, or even a vegan menu.
The trend in the US has been to hide the word ‘vegan’ from consumers and bury it in their website somewhere. Not so in the UK. Brands seem super happy about showing which products in their selection are vegan. No list of ‘secretly/accidentally vegan’ products over there, they happily let you know right in the packaging.
People there are generally more aware of veganism too. No need to explain what it is like I constantly do in the US. ‘Can vegans eat eggs?’ What part of ‘no animal products’ don’t you understand?
Let me guess: he bought his own jacket back through a 3rd party just to increase his public image.
The government is one giant taxpayer-funded scam after another. Not that I like Trump in any way, but I’m somewhat thankful that he’s so brazen with the corruption and shedding light on everything.
There’s not a single respectable politician. Obama was worth $1-2M before he became president, and is now worth $70M+.
They removed ‘A Shaun The Sheep Movie: Farmageddon’. OK Sony, this is war.
See, where you went wrong was… you started taking something called ‘Kratom’… from a local gas station.
Personally, I haven’t bought a physical game in maybe a decade. Digital is so much easier. No swapping out discs. The fear of games vanishing isn’t unfounded but overstated.
Used game stores have long ripped off gamers and cut into Sony’s profits. Get rid of the resale aspect and you’ll likely see sales increase.
That being said: I wanted to play Left 4 Dead on my Series X the other day and it’s not available for purchase on the Xbox store. You need a physical version. Which I luckily have.
If Sony, Microsoft etc want to promote digital sales over physical, they need to sort out the licensing. I don’t know of any issues like these with Steam sales. You buy it, you own it. Period.
Is it because they issued warrants for genocidal Israelis?
From the BBC article:
‘He (Graham) told CNN in 2015 that Trump was "a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot", and during the 2016 campaign he posted on social media: "If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed... and we will deserve it."

Well, he was right about something.
A ‘brief and sudden illness’ right after he visited Ukraine yet again to push sanctions on Russia? I think the Kremlin did the American people a solid.
Back in the 90's, a friend of mine purchased a new stereo receiver that had a blue LED power indicator light instead of the standard red. The envy of everyone who saw it. Thanks, Shuji!
Pretty ballsy, and dumb, to mess with Apple like this. AI companies are really riding the 'too big to fail' ship close to the edge.
'The lawsuit claims that Chief Hardware Officer Tang Tan, a former Apple vice president who spent 24 years at the company, asked Apple job candidates to bring physical components for "show and tell" sessions during interviews. OpenAI employees would also ask candidates for prototypes and information about vendors, the complaint alleges.'
Apple, like all FAANG and adjacent/copycat companies, have such insane hiring processes, all to make sure they get the best people. Yet were constantly seeing headlines like these: highly paid engineers and top execs doing the unthinkable. Tang Tan's total compensation at Apple was likely well into the millions and that didn't stop him asking interviewees to steal trade secrets. Amazing.
RIP Letterboxd. Going the same way as Rotten Tomatoes.
I anticipate the forthcoming graph that shows Tesla quality mysteriously dropping post July 10th, 2026.
If I recall correctly, the Ford example was their own automation software and not this current slew of AI bullshit.
‘But guys… the stock market is at a record high. Don’t you care?’
I can honestly say that I was far better off a decade ago, despite making half the salary I currently do.
“The solution that’s being promoted is that we give you testosterone,” he said. “But if you give a man testosterone, you switch off his sperm production. I’ve seen that in the clinic.”
Interesting…
So cool that a stolen website idea used by geeks to stalk college girls in the hopes of sexual encounters is now poisoning the water supplies of rural communities.
I was recently in the Uk and one of the cars I was in would alert the driver if he was over the speed limit. Fair enough. But the alert itself is distracting. Are we to review every single alert from these cameras? Is that not just another distraction?
So, it appears you can no longer sign up for an account without using your phone number or existing Google/Apple accounts. Goodbye anonymity and goodbye to the majority of their user base.
The simple fact is that America isn’t a real country, it never stood a chance. Europeans living on stolen land and building their economy on slavery and indentured servitude? All the propaganda in the world can’t hide that or stop the collapse that’s gaining speed.
The Guardian is 205 years old.
The left spent the better part of a decade gleefully advocating for, often successfully, the debanking of those they disagreed with politically and socially. It was gong to rebound on them one day.
