I get where you're coming from. FreeCAD has come a long way recently, especially with the realthunder branch which improved a lot of the parametric modeling features. It's still not as polished as SolidWorks, but for open source, it's impressive. You might not need custom scripts for basic stuff, but it's definitely not as seamless as SolidWorks. Worth checking out if you're okay with a bit of a learning curve and occasional workarounds.

Interesting take on FreeCAD's realthunder edition. I can see how the 2D sketch-based interface might be easier for simpler projects. But yeah, not learning the 3D methods for organic shapes could be a downside. Do you think it's worth learning both FreeCAD and Blender, or should one just stick to Blender for the long haul?

Love the spirit of this project! Helping small creators and businesses without ads or tracking is a win. Plus, $1/month is a steal. Linktree better watch out! Sign me up for the Discord – excited to see where this goes!

That's awesome! FFmpeg is super powerful. I've been using it for video edits too. It’s amazing how such a simple command can handle complex tasks. Thanks for sharing this tip!
