Hi Peter, my AOS filing date is current as of October bulletin (India born). How crucial it is to apply for AOS asap compared to later? My employer's attorney is too slow and is flooded with AOS filing requests coz of this. It seems like it will be the in final days of October that they may get to my application. It is quite concerning for me. Should I look for my own attorney?

I recently went through this pain for an electron app. Non-EV code sign cert kept throwing SmartScreen warnings for most users. Acquiring an EV cert forced me to register a company and a hefty cert price per year, overall costing nearly $1500. Not to mention overall delay and added costs.

Meanwhile my $100/y Apple Dev subscription was enough to package the app and distribute outside App Store.

At this point I am fairly certain EV certs are nothing but rackets supported by MS.

The reality is that someone from India will accept much lower wages and poorer conditions than someone born in Australia, Sweden or Switzerland.

People on H1-B live in the US and maintain a good standard of living as per the city they are in and hence end up demanding for the same market salary as locals. This has been proven every-time people brought up cheap labor issue.

The likely issue (for American jobs) here is when whole IT/Software teams shift to India or China through outsourcing companies and American workers are laid off as cost measures. This happens a lot in non-tech companies very easily where they want to stay ahead in tech but not take the ownership of it.

Sales tax has one of the most complicated structures. Recently ADP built logic to tax according to counties and sub-zones (not just states and cities) to save millions on taxes for its customers. I doubt small start-ups can afford their software. It will be great if Stripe can come up with an API to simplify this. Or else, its clearly a win for large retailers and not as much for small ecommerce stores.

I am working on a medical dictation app and the lack of any interoperability between 1000s of EHRs is mind boggling to me. There is absolutely no standards and like you mentioned its completely deliberate. Working through these platforms over the years has made me less and less optimistic about having a better health care system in the future.

I built this as free extension since the cost is almost negligible. I built a routing engine to find the cheapest provider to deliver an SMS. Currently only offering in United States. If you have any questions, please let me know.

There is only 1 metric I believe we all need to test during ideation. Will people use this? If so, why? This may involve various ways of answering that question. Things like, figuring out your target audience, asking around, taking surveys, asking people to sign-up for updates etc.

I happen to hate searching for such answers, and end up creating MVPs only to realize not enough people want to use it. But I think even before MVP, one must pursue getting some early adopters excited to try it (even if it is for free). For my next project I plan to be thorough (hopefully).

I am seeing this issue 2nd hand and I totally get it. My aunt runs a practice and her time with the patients dropped significantly. She is also unable to see as many patients as she used to before the mandate.

While I've built few nifty tools (chrome extensions and macros) for her to simplify some of the cumbersome tasks, I am envisioning and planning to build a whole new EHR solution from scratch that puts doctors first, as my side project. It's a daunting task and requires expert domain knowledge. Hoping to get an MVP by end of year.

Costs are really low by matching best provider to dispatch an SMS based on receiver's number. Plan is to keep it free until cannot afford it. If it gets out of control, will implement nominal pricing for very high usage audience.

I disagree. Less users also mean low price for bounty since the media is not paying attention. It is a fair conclusion that a reward as big as $1M is imposed since it has been proven (so far) that iOS platform is quite secure.

It kinda mimics the email. Anyone who has your email can send you messages. You are right about spamming, I am working with external tools to block spams and bots.

I will fix the link. Thanks for point out.

No particular reason. But I always wanted to push messages even when I am not logged in. So from any computer I can send myself the link/text. I can push to my friends too as long as I know their Phone Name.

Shameless plug: I made drumroll.io to simply bookmark and/or send links from pc to phone (drumroll.io/app). It does not require authentication and has chrome extension (drumroll.io/chrome) as well.
