I feel this. Recently _some_ company, I have no idea which, has decided my IP is malicious and refuses to serve my requests. This has effectively banned me from a few websites, including a government service I pay taxes for.

I'm slightly ashamed to admit I don't know what RPZ, PTR, or SPF are, nor do I understand the asides about AI or reverse DNS.

What precisely is his problem with Amazon?

Similarly I find I sometimes enjoy listening to the radio more than Spotify because I don't feel forced to min/max my enjoyment. I have to listen to whatever is on.

I tried getting into OSRS a few weeks ago. I noticed the official Jagex client doesn't run on Linux, so I installed RuneLite. However Jagex recently mandated the transition of email/password logins to a fancy proprietary OAuthy thing that _requires_ their official launcher.

Apparently the kosher way around this is installing RuneLite and the Jagex launcher in Lutris or Wine, but I just gave up.

I dislike that people interpret this adage being violated as an example of English's inconsistency. The clearer conclusion is that it just isn't true.

Yeah - while I've never dived too deeply, I have modded my 3DS a fair bit and didn't know what the OS was codenamed. I've always just seen it called 3DS OS, native firm, etc.

I must admit I'm honestly not impressed with my Framework. I'm sure it's decent for a Windows laptop - the repairability alone is certainly enough to set it apart there - but coming from a MacBook, everything's just.. worse.

Were MacBook upgrades not so expensive (all i want is 16GB!) and my love affair with NixOS, I'd probably have regretted buying one.

I completely understand the desire to not implement such things, but I also understand why they exist.

Unfortunately, perhaps due to a mixture of elitism, protectionism, and market dominance, writing cross-platform software in any capacity, let alone cross platform software that requires low-level hardware access, Bluetooth, video, geolocation, etc., is far harder than it deserves to be, and using the web as an abstraction layer makes these things a million times easier.

edit: It's also far easier to distribute this stuff. I just want my video game controller working in slightly better order - I don't want to have to install some bluetooth library and then choose between an x86 Mac, ARM Mac, x86 Windows, x64 Windows, AppImage, deb, flatpak, .tar.gz, snap, my package manager (if it's even there), try install it, shit, it doesn't run on my distro, patch it, use it once, then uninstall it.
