Although he definitely shouldn't be stepping down from his position he absolutely needs to come to Barcelona and open a development center in the city. Quality talent at 1/3 of the cost
I've heard that in other startup "hubs" like London or Berlin the ratio is much higher, something like 20%. If Barcelona wants to become one day the place to go for investors/entrepreneurs/founders in Europe that has to improve.
Same issue about bringing girls/women to coding. I know in the States efforts are made in that respect, I hope Spain will follow suit because the situation is appalling, literally not one single girl is motivated to go coding.

What's dismaying of all this is to see all consipracionists continue with their beliefs that's all planned by occident even though presented by hard evidence. Evidence studied by scientists from different countries and during more than 2 years of harsh scrutiny by all governments involved. ConsiprationistS will never believe somEthing presented as official version no matter what but always believe their own version despite the lack of all evidence or remotely logical explanation.
World keeps spinning despite consiparationists but it would still be frustrating if you were one of these scientists making so much effort to put some light on difficult issues just to see their theories "debunked" in a one minute video on youtube.
If these salaries are accurate it is a sad prospect for developers coming from other cities like London or Berlin to Barcelona. Salaries in London are three or four times higher than there. Sure the city is becoming a startup hub, but can they maintain these low salaries for long?, will investors keep funding startups in Barcelona if salaries go high? Or is it all just a bubble, like famous and longtime spanish investor Luis Martin Cabiedes says?
Spain it's always been a hostile place for entrepeneurship, hope it changes soon.
Difficult not to love how he discusses everything with a very different language from traditional politans (or I would say, professional polititians). He sounds true and honest, and by no means a radical inciendary that wants to destroy the EU and the Euro. His political career has been cut short by massive pressure from all sides but he has gained sympathy for Syriza's cause worldwide in a very short time and nonetheless make progress in negotiations despite having everyone against his ideas in economic institutuions.
I'm sure we'll miss Varoufakis and I hope his style - be like a common mortal - permeates politics everywhere.
This is a nice approach to customer service, I have always had many bad experiences when dealing with call centers or email customer service, always felt abandonend.
Problem is can you manitain that level if your rate of failures gets bigger and you need to deal with say 100 cases like this each month?
I can't see this being sustainable in services like Paypal or Amazon who I imagine deal with thousands of differents issues everyday.
But anyway I whish it was always like it's been reflected in this story, we'd be at least conforted that someone cares about our problem.
