We need to talk about Islam's human rights problems all the time everywhere because that's the only way these problems will ever see the light of day. In Muslim countries these problems are always buried and there is a conspiracy to keep them buried so that no social progress can be made. That's immensely disrespectful to the victims of these problems.
Christianity is an the answer to Stoicism. Stoicism has no good news and prescribes suicide if you can't take it any more. Christianity promises Heaven.
It's a difficult line to walk social justice warrior. At the end of the day it's a fact that religion sets up a psychology that is more positive than the mass psychology of the consumer civilization. That part of religion, a psychology that is resistant to the chaos and disappointment of the world is definitely something that's positive about religion and there are no alternatives in other discourses that are equivalent.
The US gov will probably give you some money to fix that and make it available for free.
I had this idea of opening a game studio just for this purpose. To tell stories of politics and wars from an unbiased perspective. Currently most US video games about wars are more or less biased towards the US's view of the world.

Great in theory not so great in reality. I really doubt bash on Windows is going to be all that great and that Linux support is going to be that great either. Microsoft is going to half-ass it because that's not their core competency and it never will be. It's just a shady business tactic to try to win users that are no longer interested in their platform.
I do too, that's where elite interest and interest of modern workers converge and they use that to justify their policies. But often those policies are not good for the locals. Many immigrants do work harder than the locals. Which creates more competition and allows you to exploit the local population better in terms of offering them lower pay and longer hours and fewer benefits. Combine that with automation and you really have too much power in the situation.
What is Jewish culture? Jews are as diverse a group as any other group. Jewish culture includes everything from religious nut jobs, to academia, to gay rights, to you name it. Jews are a extremely wide spectrum of opinion. Probably all spectrum of opinion is covered by Jews. So yeah let's preserve that. Let's preserve my Jewish culture, though I am not a Jew I share the same culture of all human opinions.
Media is owned by corporations and the elite. They want freedom of movement, because cheaper labor to exploit and easier to move capital around to make more money. They also want one set of rules and laws and taxes. They also find it much easier to manipulate a single body than multiple bodies. If you want certain policies it's much more effective if you have to buy one government over many different governments.
Elite, the few of them that there are, want one world government that allows them to dictate all the policies and tax the population for things like patents and copyright. They want more power and the way to get that is to get everything under one umbrella... or as few umbrellas as possible. It's easier for them to manage their interests that way than if they have to deal with multiple governments all of which represent potentially different power structures and groups.
I would like to see a US company pay 15B for not following the rules. If it were a US company, the fine with be in the millions.

People watch(ed) TV not for the actual content but just to pass the time. It was mostly channel surfing and once in a while you'd find a show that you wanted to watch all the way through. It was just something to do rather than actually consume a story line. Netflix has made consuming actual stories much much better and easier.

The fire soon fire often ideology is stupid advice for anything but a small startup. The reason it's stupid advice is that you already have a bunch of people that over time will develop their own politics in the organization, and they will then exercise power in the organization using that politics. For instance the developers will figure out ways of working less by overestimating everything or forcing project managers to do additional work to delay things, and any new developer that does not get the games that they are playing will be denied enough information by the lead developer to do his job properly and will be promptly fired for that. Any new comer that does not adhere to their politics will be fired. All that this sort of advice does is it maintains cultures, whether they are positive or negative. Good team players can get kicked out to maintain the rotten apples or vice verse and often upper management is clueless to what's actually going on.

It can go the other way as well. If you have a large conglomeration of power it's easy for a few people with capital to take over and make all the rules and potentially destroy the environment. See the United States for an example of this, especially in terms of fracking. People who don't necessarily suffer due to bad policy but profit from it.

Conglomerations of power benefit people with power the most. That can be a positive or a negative depending on what policies those people want to pursue.
Yes right now. This can be fixed without giving up sovereignty. Many things that the EU is supposed to be solve can be solved via individual treaties. There is no need to give away the farm to get small benefits. At the end of the day the world is better off without conglomeration of power. Any of them are a bad idea. Individual treaties for problem points are the way to go.

I liked Tay's take on reality. I think we could use more of that. /s At the end of the day I believe AI is bound of have mental problems just like humans have mental problems the reason being the world does not really make sense when you look at it. The things which happen to us all don't make sense. How we do many things don't make sense. There is little logical consistency in the world. Learning from the world and the action of other people is a extremely error ridden process and there are millions of possibilities of learning bad ideas or the wrong thing because we are all like that. We make mistakes all the time and they effect other people as well as ourselves.
Well the point of that is to affect NPV of money right and force investment. And corporations go meh, too much risk. I think that's what's happening. I think even the negative interest rate isn't going to make them budge because the profit margins are razor thin, and even if you make something doesn't mean it will all not be wasted. The economy is saturated and the corps don't know how to make profit in it so they rather sit around and do nothing, and let China and other countries produce everything and then try to be the middle man or something as such with minimal risk and investment.

The central bank is printing tons of money and continuously pumping it into the economy. Americans don't feel the effects of that as everyone uses American dollars. So it's almost as if the central bank is creating gold, which is suppose to be a finite quantity. It does nothing.
At the end of the day corporations must borrow that money and corporations are sitting on tons of their own money, they don't want more money to hire employees. They don't know what to do with the money they have. They can make goods, but no one will buy them at the levels of profit they need. So they just sit on the money.
When the fact is the economy is efficient and they should be making goods even if they are not profitable, i.e. at cost... just to create employment, give people money, with which they can buy things. But that's not how the profit motive works. The management consultants and management theory have pushed this idea in their heads, and they are sticking to it, that they need to create profit always. Shareholders demand it! But profit is hard to come buy these days. So they sit around and do nothing instead. Jobs don't get created, people are starved for money and that vicious cycle ensues and consumption goes down.
Sort of ridiculous that economists can't agree on whether this is a good thing or not for the economy of the country consuming the most in the world yet not contributing the same back.
The economy is not everything. I know most people including leaders these days think all political decisions should be made keeping the economy in mind, and that's the most important thing. But I don't think this to be the case. Sovereignty and the right for people to make the rules that govern them are just as important if not more important than the economy.
Until some enterprising company comes along, offers to share a patent with these developers for their developments... and then sues the shit out of Apple, Google, and Microsoft. Can't wait for that shit storm, and you can see it on the horizon. It's calm.
